M. — Some force the Heb. text to say that Ahod had three sons, whom he sent to form a colony at Manahath, and afterwards he had three others by his two wives, and at last, by Rodes, he had Jobab, &c. C. — Begot. Prot. "children in the country of Moab, after he had sent them away: Hushim and Baara were his wives." But the Sept. intimate, that "Saharim begot...after he had sent away Osim, and his wife Baara, and he begot of Ada," &c. H. — He had perhaps retired into Moab, at the same time as Elimelech. Ruth i. T. — Those who were sent away were men, (eos) according to the Heb. unless (H.) the word should be eas. D.

Καὶ Μαισὰ ἐγέννησε τὸν Βαανά· Ῥαφαία υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Ἐλασὰ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Ἐσὴλ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ.
וּ/מוֹצָ֖א הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת בִּנְעָ֑א רָפָ֥ה בְנ֛/וֹ אֶלְעָשָׂ֥ה בְנ֖/וֹ אָצֵ֥ל בְּנֽ/וֹ
8:38 Porro Asel sex filii fuerunt his nominibus : Ezricam, Bocru, Ismahel, Saria, Obdia, et Hanan : omnes hi filii Asel.
And Asel had six sons whose names were Ezricam, Bochru, Ismahel, Saris, Obdia, and Hanan. All these were the sons of Asel.
Καὶ τῷ Ἐσὴλ ἓξ υἱοί· καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα αὐτῶν· Ἐζρικὰμ πρωτότοκος αὐτοῦ, καὶ Ἰσμαὴλ, καὶ Σαραΐα, καὶ Ἀβδία, καὶ Ἀνὰν, καὶ Ἀσά· πάντες οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἐσήλ.
וּ/לְ/אָצֵל֮ שִׁשָּׁ֣ה בָנִים֒ וְ/אֵ֣לֶּה שְׁמוֹתָ֗/ם עַזְרִיקָ֥ם בֹּ֨כְרוּ֙ וְ/יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל וּ/שְׁעַרְיָ֔ה וְ/עֹבַדְיָ֖ה וְ/חָנָ֑ן כָּל אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י אָצַֽל
8:39 Filii autem Esec fratris ejus, Ulam primogenitus, et Jehus secundus, et Eliphalet tertius.
And the sons of Esec, his brother, were Ulam the firstborn, and Jehus the second, and Eliphalet the third.
Καὶ υἱοὶ Ἀσὴλ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ, Αἰλὰμ πρωτότοκος αὐτοῦ, καὶ Ἰὰς ὁ δεύτερος, καὶ Ἐλιφαλὲτ ὁ τρίτος.
וּ/בְנֵ֖י עֵ֣שֶׁק אָחִ֑י/ו אוּלָ֣ם בְּכֹר֔/וֹ יְעוּשׁ֙ הַ/שֵּׁנִ֔י וֶֽ/אֱלִיפֶ֖לֶט הַ/שְּׁלִשִֽׁי
8:40 Fueruntque filii Ulam viri robustissimi, et magno robore tendentes arcum : et multos habentes filios ac nepotes, usque ad centum quinquaginta. Omnes hi filii Benjamin.
*H And the sons of Ulam were most valiant men, and archers of great strength: and they had many sons and grandsons, even to a hundred and fifty. All these were children of Benjamin.
Ver. 40. Archers, particularly the natives of Gabaa. Judg. xx. 16. Jonathan is praised for his skill. 2 K. i. 22. M. — Benjamin. We might hence conclude that here ended the genealogy of that family. Yet we find it partly repeated in the following chapter, v. 35. H.
Καὶ ἦσαν υἱοὶ Αἰλὰμ ἰσχυροὶ ἄνδρες δυνάμει, τείνοντες τόξον, καὶ πληθύνοντες υἱοὺς καὶ υἱοὺς τῶν υἱῶν, ἑκατὸν πεντήκοντα· πάντες οὗτοι ἐξ υἱῶν Βενιαμίν.
וַֽ/יִּהְי֣וּ בְנֵי א֠וּלָם אֲנָשִׁ֨ים גִּבֹּרֵי חַ֜יִל דֹּ֣רְכֵי קֶ֗שֶׁת וּ/מַרְבִּ֤ים בָּנִים֙ וּ/בְנֵ֣י בָנִ֔ים מֵאָ֖ה וַ/חֲמִשִּׁ֑ים כָּל אֵ֖לֶּה מִ/בְּנֵ֥י בִנְיָמִֽן
