Any meat which you eat, if water from such a vessel be poured upon it, shall be unclean; and every liquor that is drunk out of any such vessel, shall be unclean.
Leviticus 11 38 Si autem quispiam aqua sementem perfuderit, et postea morticinis tacta fuerit, illico polluetur. But if any man pour water upon the seed, and afterwards it be touched by the carcasses, it shall be forthwith defiled.
If any beast die, of which it is lawful for you to eat, he that toucheth the carcass thereof, shall be unclean until the evening.
The man in whose skin or flesh shall arise a different colour or a blister, or as it were something shining, that is the stroke of the leprosy, shall be brought to Aaron the priest, or any or of his sons.
Leviticus 13 4 Sin autem lucens candor fuerit in cute, nec humilior carne reliqua, et pili coloris pristini, recludet eum sacerdos septem diebus : But if there be a shining whiteness in the skin, and not lower than the other flesh, and the hair be of the former colour, the priest shall shut him up seven days.
And on the seventh day, he shall look on him. If the leprosy be somewhat obscure, and not spread in the skin, he shall declare him clean, because it is but a scab: and the man shall wash his clothes, and shall be clean.
Leviticus 13 9 Plaga leprae si fuerit in homine, adducetur ad sacerdotem, If the stroke of the leprosy be in a man, he shall be brought to the priest: Καὶ ἁφὴ λέπρας ἐὰν γένηται ἐν ἀνθρώπῳ, και ἥξει πρὸς τὸν ἱερέα·
Leviticus 13 10 et videbit eum. Cumque color albus in cute fuerit, et capillorum mutaverit aspectum, ipsa quoque caro viva apparuerit : And he shall view him. And when there shall be a white colour in the skin, and it shall have changed the look of the hair, and the living flesh itself shall appear: Καὶ ὄψεται ὁ ἱερεὺς, καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐλὴ λευκὴ ἐν τῷ δέρματι, καὶ αὕτη μετέβαλε τρίχα λευκὴν, καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὑγιοῦς τῆς σαρκὸς τῆς ζώσης ἐν τῇ οὐλῇ.
Leviticus 13 16 Quod si rursum versa fuerit in alborem, et totum hominem operuerit, And if again it be turned into whiteness, and cover all the man: Ἐὰν δὲ ἀποκαταστῇ ὁ χρὼς ὁ ὑγιὴς, καὶ μεταβάλῃ λευκὴ, καὶ ἐλεύσεται πρὸς τὸν ἱερέα·
Leviticus 13 26 Quod si pilorum color non fuerit immutatus, nec humilior plaga carne reliqua, et ipsa leprae species fuerit subobscura, recludet eum septem diebus, But if the colour of the hair be not changed, nor the blemish lower than the other flesh, and the appearance of the leprosy be somewhat obscure: he shall shut him up seven days, Ἐὰν δὲ ἴδῃ ὁ ἱερεὺς, καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν τῷ· αὐγάζοντι θρὶξ λευκή, καὶ ταπεινὸν μὴ ᾖ ἀπὸ τοῦ δέρματος, αὐτὸ δὲ ἀμαυρὸν, καὶ ἀφοριεῖ αὐτὸν ὁ ἱερεὺς ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας.
Leviticus 13 26 Quod si pilorum color non fuerit immutatus, nec humilior plaga carne reliqua, et ipsa leprae species fuerit subobscura, recludet eum septem diebus, But if the colour of the hair be not changed, nor the blemish lower than the other flesh, and the appearance of the leprosy be somewhat obscure: he shall shut him up seven days, Ἐὰν δὲ ἴδῃ ὁ ἱερεὺς, καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν τῷ· αὐγάζοντι θρὶξ λευκή, καὶ ταπεινὸν μὴ ᾖ ἀπὸ τοῦ δέρματος, αὐτὸ δὲ ἀμαυρὸν, καὶ ἀφοριεῖ αὐτὸν ὁ ἱερεὺς ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας.
And if the place be lower than the other flesh, and the hair yellow, and thinner than usual: he shall declare them unclean, because it is the leprosy of the head and the beard; Καὶ ὄψεται ὁ ἱερεὺς τὴν ἁφὴν, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἡ ὄψις αὐτῆς ἐγκοιλοτέρα τοῦ δέρματος, ἐν αὐτῇ δὲ θρὶξ ξανθίζουσα λεπτὴ, καὶ μιανεῖ αὐτὸν ὁ ἱερεύς· θραῦσμά ἐστι, λέπρα τῆς κεφαλῆς ἢ λέπρα τοῦ πώγωνός ἐστι.
Leviticus 13 34 Si die septimo visa fuerit stetisse plaga in loco suo, nec humilior carne reliqua, mundabit eum : lotisque vestibus suis, mundus erit. If on the seventh day the evil seem to have stayed in its place, and not lower than the other flesh, he shall cleanse him: and his clothes being washed he shall be clean.
Leviticus 13 42 Sin autem in calvitio sive in recalvatione albus vel rufus color fuerit exortus, But if in the bald head or in the bald forehead there be risen a white or reddish colour: Ἐὰν δὲ γένηται ἐν τῷ φαλακρώματι αὐτοῦ ἢ ἐν τῷ ἀναφαλαντώματι αὐτοῦ ἁφὴ λευκὴ ἢ πυῤῥίζουσα, λέπρα ἐστὶν ἐν τῷ φαλακρώματι αὐτοὺ, ἢ ἐν τῷ ἀναφαλαντώματι αὐτοῦ·
Leviticus 13 44 Quicumque ergo maculatus fuerit lepra, et separatus est ad arbitrium sacerdotis, Now whosoever shall be defiled with the leprosy, and is separated by the judgment of the priest:
Leviticus 13 49 si alba vel rufa macula fuerit infecta, lepra reputabitur, ostendeturque sacerdoti : If it be infected with a white or red spot, it shall be accounted the leprosy, and shall be shewn to the priest.
Leviticus 13 51 et die septimo rursus aspiciens, si deprehenderit crevisse, lepra perseverans est : pollutum judicabit vestimentum, et omne in quo fuerit inventa : And on the seventh day when he looketh on it again, if he find that it is grown, it is a fixed leprosy. He shall judge the garment unclean, and every thing wherein it shall be found.
But if the place of the leprosy be somewhat dark, after the garment is washed, he shall tear it off, and divide it from that which is sound.
Leviticus 14 34 Cum ingressi fueritis terram Chanaan, quam ego dabo vobis in possessionem, si fuerit plaga leprae in aedibus, When you shall come into the land of Chanaan, which I will give you for a possession, if there be the plague or leprosy in a house: ὡς ἂν εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν γῆν τῶν Χαναναίων, ἣν ἐγὼ δίδωμι ὑμῖν ἐν κτήσει, καὶ δώσω ἁφὴν λέπρας ἐν ταῖς οἰκίαις τῆς γῆς τῆς ἐγκτήτου ὑμῖν·
Leviticus 14 48 Quod si introiens sacerdos viderit lepram non crevisse in domo, postquam denuo lita fuerit, purificabit eam reddita sanitate : But if the priest going in perceive that the leprosy is not spread in the house, after it was plastered again, he shall purify it, it being cured.
And whatsoever has been under him that hath the issue of seed, shall be unclean until the evening. He that carrieth any of these things, shall wash his clothes: and being washed with water, he shall be unclean until the evening.
Leviticus 15 13 Si sanatus fuerit qui hujuscemodi sustinet passionem, numerabit septem dies post emundationem sui, et lotis vestibus et toto corpore in aquis viventibus, erit mundus. If he who suffereth this disease be healed, he shall number seven days after his cleansing: and having washed his clothes, and all his body in living water, he shall be clean.
Leviticus 16 4 Tunica linea vestietur, feminalibus lineis verenda celabit : accingetur zona linea, cidarim lineam imponet capiti : haec enim vestimenta sunt sancta : quibus cunctis, cum lotus fuerit, induetur. He shall be vested with a linen tunick: he shall cover his nakedness with linen breeches: he shall be girded with a linen girdle, and he shall put a linen mitre upon his head. For these are holy vestments: all which he shall put on, after he is washed.
Leviticus 16 22 Cumque portaverit hircus omnes iniquitates eorum in terram solitariam, et dimissus fuerit in deserto, And when the goat hath carried all their iniquities into an uninhabited land, and shall be let go into the desert: Καὶ λήψεται ὁ χίμαρος ἐφʼ ἑαυτῷ τὰς ἀδικίας αὐτῶν εἰς γῆν ἄβατον· καὶ ἐξαποστελεῖ τὸν χίμαρον εἰς τὴν ἔρημον.
And the priest that is anointed, and whose hands are consecrated to do the office of the priesthood in his father's stead, shall make atonement. And he shall be vested with the linen robe and the holy vestments.
Leviticus 19 6 eo die quo fuerit immolata, comedetis eam, et die altero : quidquid autem residuum fuerit in diem tertium, igne comburetis. You shall eat it on the same day it was offered, and the next day. And whatsoever shall be left until the third day, you shall burn with fire.
Leviticus 19 33 Si habitaverit advena in terra vestra, et moratus fuerit inter vos, non exprobretis ei : If a stranger dwell in your land, and abide among you, do not upbraid hin: Ἐὰν δέ τις προσέλθῃ ὑμῖν προσήλυτος ἐν τῇ γῇ ὑμῶν, οὐ θλίψετε αὐτόν.
The soul that shall go aside after magicians, and soothsayers, and shall commit fornication with them: I will set my face against that soul, and destroy it out of the midst of its people.
If any man commit adultery with the wife of another, and defile his neighbour's wife: let them be put to death, both the adulterer and the adulteress.
Leviticus 20 27 Vir, sive mulier, in quibus pythonicus, vel divinationis fuerit spiritus, morte moriantur : lapidibus obruent eos : sanguis eorum sit super illos. A man, or woman, in whom there is a pythonical or divining spirit, dying let them die. They shall stone them. Their blood be upon them. None
Leviticus 21 9 Sacerdotis filia si deprehensa fuerit in stupro, et violaverit nomen patris sui, flammis exuretur. If the daughter of a priest be taken in whoredom and dishonour the name of her father, she shall be burnt with fire.
Leviticus 21 18 nec accedet ad ministerium ejus : si caecus fuerit, si claudus, si parvo vel grandi, vel torto naso, Neither shall he approach to minister to him: If he be blind; if he be lame; if he have a little, or a great, or a crooked nose; πᾶς ἄνθρωπος ᾧ ἐστιν ἐν αὐτῷ μῶμος, οὐ προσελεύσεται· ἄνθρωπος τυφλὸς.
Qui tetigerit immundum super mortuo, et ex quo egreditur semen quasi coitus, The man of the seed of Aaron, that is a leper, or that suffereth a running of the seed, shall not eat of those things that are sanctified to me, until he be healed. He that toucheth any thing unclean by occasion of the dead: and he whose seed goeth from him as in generation: Καὶ ἄνθρωπος ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματος Ἀαρὼν τοῦ ἱερέως, καὶ οὗτος λεπρᾷ ἢ γονοῤῥυεῖ, τῶν ἁγίων οὐκ ἔδεται, ἕως ἂν καθαρισθῇ· καὶ ὁ ἁπτόμενος πάσης ἀκαθαρσίας ψυχῆς, ἢ ἄνθρωπος ᾧ ἂν ἐξέλθῃ ἐξ αὐτοῦ κοίτη σπέρματος,
But he whom the priest hath bought, and he that is his servant, born in his house, these shall eat of them.
If the daughter of a priest be married to any of the people, she shall not eat of those things that are sanctified nor of the firstfruits.
But if she be a widow, or divorced, and having no children return to her father's house, she shall eat of her father's meats, as she was wont to do when she was a maid. No stranger hath leave to eat of them.
If it be blind, or broken, or have a scar or blisters, or a scab, or a dry scurf: you shall not offer them to the Lord, nor burn any thing of them upon the Lord's altar.
Leviticus 23 29 Omnis anima, quae afflicta non fuerit die hac, peribit de populis suis : Every soul that is not afflicted on this day, shall perish from among his people.
Leviticus 24 16 et qui blasphemaverit nomen Domini, morte moriatur : lapidibus opprimet eum omnis multitudo, sive ille civis, sive peregrinus fuerit. Qui blasphemaverit nomen Domini, morte moriatur. And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die. All the multitude shall stone him, whether he be a native or a stranger. He that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, dying let him die.
If he redeem it not, and the whole year be fully out, the buyer shall possess it, and his posterity for ever, and it cannot be redeemed, not even in the jubilee.
But if the house be in a village, that hath no walls, it shall be sold according to the same law as the fields. If it be not redeemed before, in the jubilee it shall return to the owner.
Leviticus 25 35 Si attenuatus fuerit frater tuus, et infirmus manu, et susceperis eum quasi advenam et peregrinum, et vixerit tecum, If thy brother be impoverished, and weak of hand, and thou receive him as a stranger and sojourner, and he live with thee: Ἐὰν δὲ πένηται ὁ ἀδελφός σοῦ ὁ μετὰ σοῦ, καὶ ἀδυνατήσῃ ταῖς χερσὶ παρὰ σοὺ, ἀντιλήψῃ αὐτοῦ ὡς προσηλύτου καὶ παροίκου, καὶ ζήσεται ὁ ἀδελφός σου μετὰ σοῦ.
Which when she shall be left by them, shall enjoy her sabbaths, being desolate for them. But they shall pray for their sins, because they rejected my judgments, and despised my laws.
Leviticus 27 3 Si fuerit masculus a vigesimo anno usque ad sexagesimum annum, dabit quinquaginta siclos argenti ad mensuram sanctuarii : If it be a man from twenty years old unto sixty years old, he shall give fifty sicles of silver, after the weight of the sanctuary:
If he be poor, and not able to pay the estimation, he shall stand before the priest: and as much as he shall value him at, and see him able to pay, so much shall he give.
Leviticus 27 14 Homo si voverit domum suam, et sanctificaverit Domino, considerabit eam sacerdos utrum bona an mala sit, et juxta pretium, quod ab eo fuerit constitutum, venundabitur : If a man shall vow his house, and sanctify it to the Lord, the priest shall consider it, whether it be good or bad: and it shall be sold according to the price, which he shall appoint.
And if he will not redeem it, but it be sold to any other man, he that vowed it, may not redeem it any more.
Leviticus 27 22 Si ager emptus est, et non de possessione majorum sanctificatus fuerit Domino, If a field that was bought, and not of a man's ancestors' possession, be sanctified to the Lord: Ἐὰν δὲ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀγροῦ οὗ κέκτηται, ὃς οὐκ ἔστιν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀγροῦ τῆς κατασχέσεως αὐτοῦ, ἁγιάσῃ τῷ Κυρίῳ,
The firstborn, which belong to the Lord, no man may sanctify and vow: whether it be bullock, or sheep, they are the Lord's.
And if it be an unclean beast, he that offereth it shall redeem it, according to thy estimation, and shall add the fifth part of the price. If he will not redeem it, it shall be sold to another for how much soever it was estimated by thee.
Quidquid semel fuerit consecratum, Sanctum sanctorum erit Domino : Any thing that is devoted to the Lord, whether it be man, or beast, or field, shall not be sold: neither may it be redeemed. Whatsoever is once consecrated shall be holy of holies to the Lord.
Numbers 1 51 Cum proficiscendum fuerit, deponent Levitae tabernaculum ; cum castrametandum, erigent. Quisquis externorum accesserit, occidetur. When you are to go forward, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle: when you are to camp, they shall set it up. What stranger soever cometh to it, shall be slain.
But if there be no one to receive it, they shall give it to the Lord, and it shall be the priest's, besides the ram that is offered for expiation, to be an atoning sacrifice.
But if she be not defiled, she shall not be hurt, and shall bear children.
Numbers 5 29 Ista est lex zelotypiae. Si declinaverit mulier a viro suo, et si polluta fuerit, This is the law of jealousy. If a woman hath gone aside from her husband, and be defiled,
Numbers 6 9 Sin autem mortuus fuerit subito quispiam coram eo, polluetur caput consecrationis ejus : quod radet illico in eadem die purgationis suae, et rursum septima. But if any man die suddenly before him: the head of his consecration shall be defiled: and he shall shave it forthwith on the same day of his purification, and again on the seventh day.
And shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and he shall deliver them into the hands of the Nazarite, after his head is shaven.
Numbers 9 10 Loquere filiis Israel : Homo, qui fuerit immundus super anima, sive in via procul in gente vestra, faciat Phase Domino Say to the children of Israel: The man that shall be unclean by occasion of one that is dead, or shall be in a journey afar off in your nation, let him make the phase to the Lord.
Numbers 10 32 Cumque nobiscum veneris, quidquid optimum fuerit ex opibus, quas nobis traditurus est Dominus, dabimus tibi. And if thou comest with us, we will give thee what is the best of the riches which the Lord shall deliver to us.
He said to them: Hear my words: if there be among you a prophet of the Lord, I will appear to him in a vision, or I will speak to him in a dream.
Numbers 14 8 Si propitius fuerit Dominus, inducet nos in eam, et tradet humum lacte et melle manantem. If the Lord be favourable, he will bring us into it, and give us a land flowing with milk and honey.
Numbers 15 24 oblitaque fuerit facere multitudo : offeret vitulum de armento, holocaustum in odorem suavissimum Domino, et sacrificum ejus ac liba, ut caeremoniae postulant, hircumque pro peccato : And the multitude have forgotten to do it: they shall offer a calf out of the herd, a holocaust for a most sweet savour to the Lord, and the sacrifice and libations thereof, as the ceremonies require, and a buck goat for sin: καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν ἐξ ὀφθαλμῶν τῆς συναγωγῆς γενηθῇ ἀκουσίως, καὶ ποιήσει πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγὴ μόσχον ἕνα ἐκ βοῶν ἄμωμον εἰς ὁλοκαύτωμα εἰς ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας Κυρίῳ, καὶ θυσίαν τούτου καὶ σπονδὴν αὐτοῦ κατὰ τὴν σύνταξιν, καὶ χίμαρον ἐξ αἰγῶν ἕνα περὶ ἁμαρτίας.
Numbers 18 15 Quidquid primum erumpit e vulva cunctae carnis, quam offerunt Domino, sive ex hominibus, sive de pecoribus fuerit, tui juris erit : ita dumtaxat ut pro hominis primogenito pretium accipias, et omne animal quod immundum est redimi facias, Whatsoever is firstborn of all flesh, which they offer to the Lord, whether it be of men, or of beasts, shall belong to thee: only for the firstborn of man thou shalt take a price, and every beast that is unclean thou shalt cause to be redeemed, Καὶ πᾶν διανοῖγον μήτραν ἀπὸ πάσης σαρκὸς, ὅσα προσφέρουσι Κυρίῳ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους, σοὶ ἔσται· ἀλλʼ ἢ λύτροις λυτρωθήσεται τὰ πρωτότοκα τῶν ἀνθρώπων, καὶ τὰ πρωτότοκα τῶν κτηνῶν τῶν ἀκαθάρτων λυτρώσῃ.
Numbers 19 11 Qui tetigerit cadaver hominis, et propter hoc septem diebus fuerit immundus, He that toucheth the corpse of a man, and is therefore unclean seven days, Ὁ ἁπτόμενος τοῦ τεθνηκότος πάσης ψυχῆς ἀνθρώπου, ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας.
Shall be sprinkled with this water on the third day, and on the seventh, and so shall be cleansed. If he were not sprinkled on the third day, he cannot be cleansed on the seventh.
Every one that toucheth the corpse of a man, and is not sprinkled with this mixture, shall profane the tabernacle of the Lord, and shall perish out of Israel: because he was not sprinkled with the water of expiation, he shall be unclean, and his uncleanness shall remain upon him.
If any man be not expiated after this rite, his soul shall perish out of the midst of the church: because he hath profaned the sanctuary of the Lord, and was not sprinkled with the water of purification.
Let Aaron, saith he, go to his people: for he shall not go into the land which I have given the children of Israel, because he was incredulous to my words, at the waters of contradiction.
When a man dieth without a son, his inheritance shall pass to his daughter.
And of all the spoil, every garment, or vessel, or any thing made for use, of the skins, or hair of goats, or of wood, shall be purified.
Numbers 32 29 Si transierint filii Gad et filii Ruben vobiscum Jordanem omnes armati ad bellum coram Domino, et vobis fuerit terra subjecta, date eis Galaad in possessionem. If the children of Gad, and the children of Ruben pass with you over the Jordan, all armed for war before the Lord, and the land be made subject to you: give them Galaad in possession.
Numbers 35 12 in quibus cum fuerit profugus, cognatus occisi non poterit eum occidere, donec stet in conspectu multitudinis, et causa illius judicetur. And when the fugitive shall be in them, the kinsman of him that is slain may not have power to kill him, until he stand before the multitude, and his cause be judged.
If any man strike with iron, and he die that was struck: he shall be guilty of murder, and he himself shall die.
Or being his enemy, strike him with his hand, and he die: the striker shall be guilty of murder: the kinsman of him that was slain as soon as he findeth him, shall kill him.
Numbers 35 24 et hoc audiente populo fuerit comprobatum, atque inter percussorem et propinquum sanguinis quaestio ventilata : And this be proved in the hearing of the people, and the cause be debated between him that struck, and the next of kin: καὶ κρινεῖ ἡ συναγωγὴ ἀναμέσον τοῦ πατάξαντος καὶ ἀναμέσον τοῦ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἷμα, κατὰ τὰ κρίματα ταῦτα.
And be struck by him that is the avenger of blood: he shall not be guilty that killed him.
There shall be no difference of persons, you shall hear the little as well as the great: neither shall you respect any man's person, because it is the judgment of God. And if any thing seem hard to you, refer it to me, and I will hear it.
That any one might flee to them who should kill his neighbour unwillingly, and was not his enemy a day or two before, and that he might escape to some one of these cities:
But if thou desirest to eat, and the eating of flesh delight thee, kill, and eat according to the blessing of the Lord thy God, which he hath given thee, in thy cities: whether it be unclean, that is to say, having blemish or defect: or clean, that is to say, sound and without blemish, such as may be offered, as the roe, and the hart, shalt thou eat it: Ἀλλʼ ἢ ἐν πάσῃ ἐπιθυμίᾳ σου θύσεις, καὶ φαγῇ κρέα κατὰ τὴν εὐλογίαν Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου, ἣν ἔδωκέ σοι ἐν πάσῃ πόλει· ὁ ἀκάθαρτος ἐν σοὶ καὶ ὁ καθαρὸς ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό φάγεται αὐτό, ὡς δορκάδα ἢ ἔλαφον.
And if the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, that his name should be there, be far off, thou shalt kill of thy herds and of thy flocks, as I have commanded thee, and shalt eat in thy towns, as it pleaseth thee.
Non aedificabitur amplius, And all the household goods that are there, thou shalt gather together in the midst of the streets thereof, and shall burn them with the city itself, so as to comsume all for the Lord thy God, and that it be a heap for ever: it shall be built no more.
Deuteronomy 14 24 Cum autem longior fuerit via, et locus quem elegerit Dominus Deus tuus, tibique benedixerit, nec potueris ad eum haec cuncta portare, But when the way and the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, are far off, and he hath blessed thee, and thou canst not carry all these things thither, Ἐὰν δὲ μακρὰν γένηται ἡ ὁδὸς ἀπὸ σοῦ, καὶ μὴ δύνῃ ἀναφέρειν αὐτὰ, ὅτι μακρὰν ἀπὸ σοῦ ὁ τόπος, ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου ἐπικληθῆναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ, ὅτι εὐλογήσει σε Κύριος ὁ Θεός σοῦ,
Deuteronomy 15 12 Cum tibi venditus fuerit frater tuus Hebraeus aut Hebraea, et sex annis servierit tibi, in septimo anno dimittes eum liberum : When thy brother a Hebrew man, or Hebrew woman is sold to thee, and hath served thee six years, in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free: Ἐὰν δὲ πραθῇ σοι ὁ ἀδελφός σου ὁ Ἑβραῖος ἢ Ἐβραία, δουλεύσει σοι ἓξ ἔτη, καὶ τῷ ἑβδόμῳ ἐξαποστελεῖς αὐτὸν ἐλεύθερον ἀπὸ σοῦ.
Deuteronomy 15 21 Sin autem habuerit maculam, vel claudum fuerit, vel caecum, aut in aliqua parte deforme vel debile, non immolabitur Domino Deo tuo : But if it have a blemish, or be lame, or blind, or in any part disfigured or feeble, it shall not be sacrificed to the Lord thy God.
Deuteronomy 17 4 et hoc tibi fuerit nuntiatum, audiensque inquisieris diligenter et verum esse repereris, et abominatio facta est in Israel : And this is told thee, and hearing it thou hast inquired diligently, and found it to be true, and that the abomination is committed in Israel: καὶ ἀναγγελῇ σοι καὶ ἐκζητήσῃς σφόδρα, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀληθῶς γέγονε τὸ ῥῆμα, γεγένηται τὸ βδέλυγμα τοῦτο ἐν Ἰσραήλ·
And thou shalt come to the priests of the Levitical race, and to the judge, that shall be at that time: and thou shalt ask of them, and they shall shew thee the truth of the judgment.
And when he is made king, he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor lead back the people into Egypt, being lifted up with the number of his horsemen, especially since the Lord hath commanded you to return no more the same way.
Lest perhaps the next kinsman of him whose blood was shed, pushed on by his grief should pursue, and apprehend him, if the way be too long, and take away the life of him who is not guilty of death, because he is proved to have had no hatred before against him that was slain.
Deuteronomy 19 11 Si quis autem, odio habens proximum suum, insidiatus fuerit vitae ejus, surgensque percusserit illum, et mortuus fuerit, fugeritque ad unam de supradictis urbibus, But if any man hating his neighbour, lie in wait for his life, and rise and strike him, and he die, and he flee to one of the cities aforesaid, Ἐὰν δὲ γένηται ἐν σοὶ ἄνθρωπος μισῶν τὸν πλησίον, καὶ ἐνεδρεύσῃ αὐτὸν, καὶ ἐπαναστῇ ἐπʼ αὐτὸν, καὶ πατάξῃ αὐτοῦ ψυχὴν, καὶ ἀποθάνῃ, καὶ φύγῃ εἰς μίαν τῶν πόλεων τούτων·
Deuteronomy 19 15 Non stabit testis unus contra aliquem, quidquid illud peccati, et facinoris fuerit : sed in ore duorum aut trium testium stabit omne verbum. One witness shall not rise up against any man, whatsoever the sin or wickedness be: but in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall stand.

I will put this fleece of wool on the floor: if there be dew in the fleece only, and it be dry on all the ground beside, I shall know that by my hand, as thou hast said, thou wilt deliver Israel.
Judges 11 31 quicumque primus fuerit egressus de foribus domus meae, mihique occurrerit revertenti cum pace a filiis Ammon, eum holocaustum offeram Domino. Whosoever shall first come forth out of the doors of my house, and shall meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, the same will I offer a holocaust to the Lord.

Judges 16 17 Tunc aperiens veritatem rei, dixit ad eam : Ferrum numquam ascendit super caput meum, quia nazaraeus, id est, consecratus Deo, sum de utero matris meae : si rasum fuerit caput meum, recedet a me fortitudo mea, et deficiam, eroque sicut ceteri homines. Then opening the truth of the thing, he said to her: The razor hath never come upon my head, for I am a Nazarite, that is to say, consecrated to God from my mother's womb: If my head be shaven, my strength shall depart from me, and I shall become weak, and shall be like other men.
And Booz said to her: At mealtime come thou hither, and eat of the bread, and dip thy morsel in the vinegar. So she sat at the side of the reapers, and she heaped to herself frumenty, and ate and was filled, and took the leavings.

And taking both the oxen, he cut them in pieces, and sent them into all the coasts of Israel, by messengers, saying: Whosoever shall not come forth, and follow Saul and Samuel, so shall it be done to his oxen. And the fear of the Lord fell upon the people, and they went out as one man.
If he shall say: It is well: thy servant shall have peace: but if he be angry, know that his malice is come to its height.
1_Kings 20 12 ait Jonathas ad David : Domine Deus Israel, si investigavero sententiam patris mei crastino vel perendie, et aliquid boni fuerit super David, et non statim misero ad te, et notum tibi fecero, Jonathan said to David: O Lord God of Israel, if I shall discover my father's mind, to morrow, or the day after, and there be any thing good for David, and I send not immediately to thee, and make it known to thee, Καὶ εἶπεν Ἰωνάθαν πρὸς Δαυὶδ, Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς Ἰσραὴλ οἶδεν, ὅτι ἀνακρινῶ τὸν πάτερα μου ὡς ἂν ὁ καιρὸς, τρισσῶς, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀγαθὸν ᾖ περὶ Δαυὶδ, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποστείλω πρὸς σὲ εἰς ἀγρὸν,
And Saul said: I have sinned; return, my son David, for I will no more do thee harm, because my life hath been precious in thy eyes this day: for it appeareth that I have done foolishly, and have been ignorant in very many things.
2_Kings 12 28 Nunc igitur congrega reliquam partem populi, et obside civitatem, et cape eam : ne cum a me vastata fuerit urbs, nomini meo ascribatur victoria. Now therefore gather thou the rest of the people together, and besiege the city and take it: lest when the city shall be wasted by me, the victory be ascribed to my name.
And Absalom had commanded his servants, saying: Take notice when Ammon shall be drunk with wine, and when I shall say to you: Strike him, and kill him, fear not: for it is I that command you: take courage, and be valiant men.
And we shall come upon him in what place soever he shall be found: and we shall cover him, as the dew falleth upon the ground, and we shall not leave of the men that are with him, not so much as one.
And if he shall enter into any city, all Israel shall cast ropes round about that city, and we will draw it into the river, so that there shall not be found so much as one small stone thereof.
Behold I have done for thee according to thy words, and have given thee a wise and understanding heart, in so much that there hath been no one like thee before thee, nor shall arise after thee.
Yea, and the things also which thou didst not ask, I have given thee; to wit, riches and glory: so that no one hath been like thee among the kings in all days heretofore.
3_Kings 8 35 Si clausum fuerit caelum, et non pluerit propter peccata eorum, et orantes in loco isto, poenitentiam egerint nomini tuo, et a peccatis suis conversi fuerint propter afflictionem suam : If heaven shall be shut up, and there shall be no rain, because of their sins, and they, praying in this place, shall do penance to thy name, and shall be converted from their sins, by occasion of their afflictions: Ἐν τῷ συσχεθῆναι τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ μὴ γενέσθαι ὑετὸν, ὅτι ἁμαρτήσονταί σοι, καὶ προσεύξονται εἰς τὸν τόπον τοῦτον, καὶ ἐξομολογήσονται τῷ ὀνόματί σου, καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν ἀποστρέψουσιν ὅταν ταπεινώσῃς αὐτοὺς,

If thy people go out to war against their enemies, by what way soever thou shalt send them, they shall pray to thee towards the way of the city, which thou hast chosen, and towards the house, which I have built to thy name: Ὅτι ἐξελεύσεται ὁ λαός σου εἰς πόλεμον ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτοῦ ἐν ὁδῷ ᾗ ἐπιστρέψεις αὐτοὺς, καὶ προσεύξονται ἐν ὀνόματι Κυρίου ὁδὸν τῆς πόλεως ἧς ἑξελέξω ἐν αὐτῇ, καὶ τοῦ οἴκου οὗ ᾠκοδόμησα τῷ ὀνόματί σου,
Concerning thy words, and concerning thy wisdom. And I did not believe them that told me, till I came myself, and saw with my own eyes, and have found that the half hath not been told me: thy wisdom and thy works exceed the fame which I heard.

If a man live many years, and have rejoiced in them all, he must remember the darksome time, and the many days: which when they shall come, the things past shall be accused of vanity.

This man came to Jesus by night and said to him: Rabbi, we know that thou art come a teacher from God; for no man can do these signs which thou dost, unless God be with him.
John 3 3 Respondit Jesus, et dixit ei : Amen, amen dico tibi, nisi quis renatus fuerit denuo, non potest videre regnum Dei. Jesus answered and said to him: Amen, amen, I say to thee, unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3 27 Respondit Joannes, et dixit : Non potest homo accipere quidquam, nisi fuerit ei datum de caelo. John answered and said: A man cannot receive any thing, unless it be given him from heaven.
John 5 7 Respondit ei languidus : Domine, hominem non habeo, ut, cum turbata fuerit aqua, mittat me in piscinam : dum venio enim ego, alius ante me descendit. The infirm man answered him: Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pond. For whilst I am coming, another goeth down before me.

Acts 3 22 Moyses quidem dixit : Quoniam prophetam suscitabit vobis Dominus Deus vester de fratribus vestris, tamquam me : ipsum audietis juxta omnia quaecumque locutus fuerit vobis. For Moses said: A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me: him you shall hear according to all things whatsoever he shall speak to you.
