Numbers 2 10 In castris filiorum Ruben ad meridianam plagam erit princeps Elisur filius Sedeur. In the camp of the sons of Ruben, on the south side, the prince shall be Elisur the son of Sedeur: Τάγματα παρεμβολῆς Ῥουβὴν, πρὸς λίβα δύναμις αὐτῶν, καὶ ὁ ἄρχων τῶν υἱῶν ʼΡουβὴν, Ἐλισοὺρ υἱὸς Σεδιούρ.
Numbers 2 18 Ad occidentalem plagam erunt castra filiorum Ephraim, quorum princeps fuit Elisama filius Ammiud. On the west side shall be the camp of the sons of Ephraim, whose prince was Elisama the son of Ammiud. Τάγμα παρεμβολῆς Ἐφραὶμ παρὰ θάλασσαν σὺν δυνάμει αὐτῶν, καὶ ὁ ἄρχων τῶν υἱῶν Ἐφραὶμ, Ἐλισαμὰ υἱὸς Ἐμιούδ.
Numbers 2 25 Ad aquilonis partem castrametati sunt filii Dan : quorum princeps fuit Ahiezer filius Ammisaddai. On the north side camped the sons of Dan: whose prince was Ahiezar the son of Ammisaddai. Τάγμα παρεμβολῆς Δὰν πρὸς βοῤῥᾶν σὺν δυνάμει αὐτῶν, καὶ ὁ ἄρχων τῶν υἱῶν Δὰν, Ἀχιέζερ υἱὸς Ἀμισαδαί.
Numbers 3 29 et castrametabuntur ad meridianam plagam. And shall camp on the south side. Οἱ δῆμοι τῶν υἱῶν Καὰθ παρεμβαλοῦσιν ἐκ πλαγίων τῆς σκηνῆς κατὰ Λίβα.

Numbers 3 38 Castrametabuntur ante tabernaculum foederis, id est, ad orientalem plagam, Moyses et Aaron cum filiis suis, habentes custodiam sanctuarii in medio filiorum Israel. Quisquis alienus accesserit, morietur. Numbers 8 2 Loquere Aaron, et dices ad eum : Cum posueris septem lucernas, candelabrum in australi parte erigatur. Hoc igitur praecipe ut lucernae contra boream e regione respiciant ad mensam panum propositionis, contra eam partem, quam candelabrum respicit, lucere debebunt. Speak to Aaron, and thou shalt say to him: When thou shalt place the seven lamps, let the candlestick be set up on the south side. Numbers 10 5 Si autem prolixior atque concisus clangor increpuerit, movebunt castra primi qui sunt ad orientalem plagam. But if the sound of the trumpets be longer, and with interruptions, they that are on the east side, shall first go forward. καὶ σαλπιεῖτε σημασίαν, καὶ ἐξαροῦσιν αἱ παρεμβάλλουσαι αἱ παρεμβαλοῦσαι ἀνατολάς·
Numbers 10 6 In secundo autem sonitu et pari ululatu tubae, levabunt tentoria qui habitant ad meridiem ; et juxta hunc modum reliqui facient, ululantibus tubis in profectionem. And at the second sounding and like noise of the trumpet, they who lie on the south side shall take up their tents. And after this manner shall the rest do, when the trumpets shall sound for a march. καὶ σαλπιεῖτε σημασίαν δευτέραν, καὶ ἐξαροῦσιν αἱ παρεμβολαὶ αἱ παρεμβάλλουσαι Λίβα· καὶ σαλπιεῖτε σημασίαν τρίτην, καὶ ἐξαροῦσιν αἱ παρεμβολαὶ αἱ παρεμβάλλουσαι παρὰ θάλασσαν· καὶ σαλπιεῖτε σημασίαν τετάρτην, καὶ ἐξαροῦσιν αἱ παρεμβολαὶ αἱ παρεμβάλλουσαι πρὸς Βοῤῥᾶν· σημασίᾳ σαλπιοῦσιν ἐν τῇ ἐξάρσει αὐτῶν.
Numbers 11 31 Ventus autem egrediens a Domino, arreptans trans mare coturnices detulit, et demisit in castra itinere quantum uno die confici potest, ex omni parte castrorum per circuitum, volabantque in aere duobus cubitis altitudine super terram. And a wind going out from the Lord, taking quails up beyond the sea brought them, and cast them into the camp for the space of one day's journey, on every side of the camp round about, and they flew in the air two cubits high above the ground. Καὶ πνεῦμα ἐξῆλθε παρὰ Κυρίου, καὶ ἐξεπέρασεν ὀρτυγομήτραν ἀπὸ τῆς θαλάσσης· καὶ ἐπέβαλεν ἐπὶ τὴν παρεμβολὴν ὁδὸν ἡμέρας ἐντεῦθεν, καὶ ὁδὸν ἡμέρας ἐντεῦθεν, κύκλῳ τῆς παρεμβολῆς, ὡσεὶ δίπηχυ ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς.
Numbers 13 18 Misit ergo eos Moyses ad considerandam terram Chanaan, et dixit ad eos : Ascendite per meridianam plagam. Cumque veneritis ad montes, And Moses sent them to view the land of Chanaan, and said to them: Go you up by the south side. Numbers 13 23 Ascenderuntque ad meridiem, et venerunt in Hebron, ubi erant Achiman et Sisai et Tholmai filii Enac : nam Hebron septem annis ante Tanim urbem Aegypti condita est. And they went up at the south side, and came to Hebron, where were Achiman and Sisai and Tholmai the sons of Enac. For Hebron was built seven years before Tanis the city of Egypt. Καὶ ἤλθοσαν ἕως φάραγγος βότρυος, καὶ κατεσκέψαντο αὐτήν· καὶ ἔκοψαν ἐκεῖθεν κλῆμα καὶ βότρυν σταφυλῆς ἕνα ἐπʼ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ᾖραν αὐτὸν ἐπʼ ἀναφορεύσι, καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ῥοῶν, καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν συκῶν.

Numbers 32 19 nec quidquam quaeremus trans Jordanem, quia jam habemus nostram possessionem in orientali ejus plaga. Neither will we seek any thing beyond the Jordan, because we have already our possession on the east side thereof, Καὶ οὐκέτι κληρονομήσομεν ἐν αὐτοῖς ἀπὸ τοῦ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου καὶ ἐπέκεινα, ὅτι ἀπέχομεν τοὺς κλήρους ἡμῶν ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου ἐν ἀνατολαῖς.
Numbers 34 3 Pars meridiana incipiet a solitudine Sin, quae est juxta Edom : et habebit terminos contra orientem mare salsissimum. The south side shall begin from the wilderness of Sin, which is by Edom: and shall have the most salt sea for its furthest limits eastward: Καὶ ἔσται ὑμῖν τὸ κλίτος τὸ πρὸς Λίβα ἀπὸ ἐρήμου Σὶν ἕως ἐχόμενον Ἐδὼμ, καὶ ἔσται ὑμῖν τὰ ὅρια πρὸς λίβα ἀπὸ μέρους τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς ἁλυκῆς ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν.
Numbers 34 4 Qui circuibunt australem plagam per ascensum Scorpionis, ita ut transeant in Senna, et perveniant a meridie usque ad Cadesbarne, unde egredientur confinia ad villam nomine Adar, et tendent usque ad Asemona. Which limits shall go round on the south side by the ascent of the Scorpion and so into Senna, and reach toward the south as far as Cadesbarne, from whence the frontiers shall go out to the town called Adar, and shall reach as far as Asemona. Καὶ κυκλώσει ὑμᾶς τὰ ὅρια ἀπὸ Λιβὸς πρὸς ἀνάβασιν Ἀκραβὶν, καὶ παρελεύσεται Ἐννὰκ, καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος αὐτοῦ πρὸς Λίβα Κάδης τοῦ Βαρνὴ, καὶ ἐξελεύσεται εἰς ἔπαυλιν Ἀρὰδ, καὶ παρελεύσεται Ἀσεμωνᾶ.
Numbers 34 6 Plaga autem occidentalis a mari magno incipiet, et ipso fine claudetur. And the west side shall begin from the great sea, and the same shall be the end thereof. Καὶ τὰ ὅρια τῆς θαλάσσης ἔσται ὑμῖν, ἡ θάλασσα ἡ μεγάλη ὁριεῖ, τοῦτο ἔσται ὑμῖν τὰ ὅρια τῆς θαλάσσης.
Numbers 34 7 Porro ad septentrionalem plagam a mari magno termini incipient, pervenientes usque ad montem altissimum, But toward the north side the borders shall begin from the great sea, reaching to the most high mountain, Καὶ τοῦτο ἔσται ὑμῖν τὰ ὅρια πρὸς βοῤῥᾶν· ἀπὸ τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς μεγάλης καταμετρήσετε ὑμῖν αὐτοῖς παρὰ τὸ ὄρος τὸ ὄρος.
Numbers 34 9 ibuntque confinia usque ad Zephrona, et villam Enan. Hi erunt termini in parte aquilonis. And the limits shall go as far as Zephrona, and the village of Enan. These shall be the borders on the north side. Καὶ ἐξελεύσεται τὰ ὅρια Δεφρωνὰ, καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος αὐτοῦ Ἀρσεναΐν· τοῦτο ἔσται ὑμῖν ὅρια ἀπὸ Βοῤῥᾶ.
Numbers 34 10 Inde metabuntur fines contra orientalem plagam de villa Enan usque Sephama, From thence they shall mark out the grounds towards the east side from the village of Enan unto Sephama. Numbers 34 15 id est, duae semis tribus, acceperunt partem suam trans Jordanem contra Jericho ad orientalem plagam. That is, two tribes and a half, have received their portion beyond the Jordan over against Jericho at the east side. Numbers 35 5 Contra orientem duo millia erunt cubiti, et contra meridiem similiter erunt duo millia : ad mare quoque, quod respicit ad occidentem, eadem mensura erit, et septentrionalis plaga aequali termino finietur, eruntque urbes in medio, et foris suburbana. Toward the east shall be two thousand cubits: and toward the south in like manner shall be two thousand cubits: toward the sea also, which looketh to the west, shall be the same extent: and the north side shall be bounded with the like limits. And the cities shall be in the midst, and the suburbs without. And when they were come, and were gone up over against the city, they stood on the north side of the city, between which and them there was a valley in the midst. Abiit ergo Josue nocte illa, et stetit in vallis medio. But all the rest of the army went in battle array on the north side, so that the last of that multitude reached to the west side of the city. Josue 8 13 omnis vero reliquus exercitus ad aquilonem aciem dirigebat, ita ut novissimi illius multitudinis occidentalem plagam urbis attingerent. Abiit ergo Josue nocte illa, et stetit in vallis medio. But all the rest of the army went in battle array on the north side, so that the last of that multitude reached to the west side of the city. Josue 11 8 tradiditque illos Dominus in manus Israel. Qui percusserunt eos, et persecuti sunt usque ad Sidonem magnam, et aquas Maserephoth, campumque Masphe, qui est ad orientalem illius partem. Ita percussit omnes, ut nullas dimitteret ex eis reliquias : And the Lord delivered them into the hands of Israel. And they defeated them, and chased them as far as the great Sidon and the waters of Maserophot, and the field of Masphe, which is on the east thereof. He slew them all, so as to leave no remains of them: Καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτοὺς Κύριος ὑποχειρίους Ἰσραήλ· καὶ κόπτοντες αὐτοὺς κατεδίωκον ἕως Σιδῶνος τῆς μεγάλης, καὶ ἕως Μασερὼν, καὶ ἕως τῶν πεδίων Μασσὼχ κατʼ ἀνατολάς· καὶ κατέκοψαν αὐτοὺς ἕως τοῦ μὴ καταλειφθῆναι αὐτῶν διασεσωσμένον.

Josue 12 7 Hi sunt reges terrae, quos percussit Josue et filii Israel trans Jordanem ad occidentalem plagam, a Baalgad in campo Libani, usque ad montem cujus pars ascendit in Seir : tradiditque eam Josue in possessionem tribubus Israel, singulis partes suas, These are the kings of the land, whom Josue and the children of Israel slew beyond the Jordan on the west side from Baalgad in the field of Libanus, unto the mount, part of which goeth up into Seir: and Josue delivered it in possession to the tribes of Israel, to every one their divisions, Καὶ οὗτοι οἱ βασιλεῖς τῶν Ἀμοῤῥαίων, οὓς ἀνεῖλεν Ἰησοῦς καὶ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου παρὰ θάλασσαν Βαλαγὰδ ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ τοῦ Λιβάνου, καὶ ἕως ὄρους τοῦ Χελχὰ ἀναβαινόντων εἰς Σηείρ· καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν Ἰησοῦς ταῖς φυλαῖς Ἰσραὴλ κληρονομεῖν κατὰ κλῆρον αὐτῶν,

Josue 13 8 cum qua Ruben et Gad possederunt terram, quam tradidit eis Moyses famulus Domini trans fluenta Jordanis, ad orientalem plagam. Josue 13 27 In valle quoque Betharan, et Bethnemra, et Socoth, et Saphon reliquam partem regni Sehon regis Hesebon : hujus quoque finis, Jordanis est, usque ad extremam partem maris Cenereth trans Jordanem ad orientalem plagam. And in the valley Betharan and Bethnemra, and Socoth, and Saphon the other part of the kingdom of Sehon king of Hesebon: the limit of this also is the Jordan, as far as the uttermost part of the sea of Cenereth beyond the Jordan on the east side, καὶ Ἐναδὼμ καὶ Ὀθαργαῒ καὶ Βαινθαναβρὰ καὶ Σοκχωθὰ καὶ Σαφὰν καὶ τὴν λοιπὴν βασιλείαν Σηὼν βασιλέως Ἐσεβών· καὶ ὁ Ἰορδάνης ὁριεῖ ἕως μέρους τῆς θαλάσσης Χενερὲθ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου ἀπʼ ἀνατολῶν.

Josue 15 5 Ab oriente vero erit initium, mare salsissimum usque ad extrema Jordanis : et ea quae respiciunt ad aquilonem, a lingua maris usque ad eumdem Jordanis fluvium. But on the east side the beginning shall be the most salt sea even to the end of the Jordan: and towards the north from the bay of the sea unto the same river Jordan. Καὶ τὰ ὅρια ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν πᾶσα ἡ θάλασσα ἡ ἁλυκὴ ἕως τοῦ Ἰορδάνου. Καὶ τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Βοῤῥᾶ, καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς λοφιᾶς τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ μέρους τοῦ Ἰορδάνου.
Josue 15 7 et tendens usque ad terminos Debera de valle Achor, contra aquilonem respiciens Galgala, quae est ex adverso ascensionis Adommim, ab australi parte torrentis : transitque aquas, quae vocantur fons solis : et erunt exitus ejus ad fontem Rogel. And reaching as far as the borders of Debara from the valley of Achor, and so northward looking towards Galgal, which is opposite to the ascent of Adommin, on the south side of the torrent, and the border passeth the waters that are called the fountain of the sun: and the goings out thereof shall be at the fountain Rogel. Καὶ προσαναβαίνει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ τὸ τέταρτον τῆς φάραγγος Ἀχὼρ, καὶ καταβαίνει ἐπὶ Γαλγὰλ, ἥ ἐστιν ἀπέναντι τῆς προσβάσεως Ἀδαμμὶν, ἥ ἐστι κατὰ Λίβα τῇ φάραγγι, καὶ διεκβάλλεῖ ἐπὶ τὸ ὕδωρ τῆς πηγῆς τοῦ ἡλίου· καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῦ ἡ διέξοδος πηγὴ Ῥωγήλ·
Josue 15 8 Ascenditque per convallem filii Ennom ex latere Jebusaei ad meridiem, haec est Jerusalem : et inde se erigens ad verticem montis, qui est contra Geennom ad occidentem in summitate vallis Raphaim contra aquilonem : And it goeth up by the valley of the son of Ennom on the side of the Jebusite towards the south, the same is Jerusalem: and thence ascending to the top of the mountain, which is over against Geennom to the west in the end of the valley of Raphaim, northward. Καὶ ἀναβαίνει τὰ ὅρια εἰς φάραγγα Ἐννὸμ, ἐπὶ νώτου τοῦ Ἰεβοῦις ἀπὸ Λιβός· αὕτη ἐστιν Ἱερουσαλήμ· καὶ διεκβάλλει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ κορυφὴν ὄρους, ἥ ἐστι κατὰ πρόσωπον φάραγγος Ἐννὸμ πρὸς θαλάσσης, ἥ ἐστιν ἐκ μέρους γῆς Ῥαφαῒν ἐπὶ βοῤῥᾶ·
Josue 15 10 Et circuit de Baala contra occidentem, usque ad montem Seir : transitque juxta latus montis Jarim ad aquilonem in Cheslon : et descendit in Bethsames, transitque in Thamna. And it compasseth from Baala westward unto mount Seir: and passeth by the side of mount Jarim to the north into Cheslon: and goeth down into Bethsames, and passeth into Thamna. Καὶ περιελεύσεται ὅριον ἀπὸ Βαὰλ ἐπὶ θάλασσαν, καὶ παρελεύσεται εἰς ὄρος Ἀσσὰρ ἐπὶ νώτου πόλιν Ἰαρὶν ἀπὸ Βοῤῥᾶ· αὕτη ἐστὶ Χασλών· καὶ καταβήσεται ἐπὶ πόλιν ἡλίου, καὶ παρελεύσεται ἐπὶ Λίβα·
Josue 15 11 Et pervenit contra aquilonem partis Accaron ex latere : inclinaturque Sechrona, et transit montem Baala : pervenitque in Jebneel, et magni maris contra occidentem fine concluditur. And reacheth northward to a part of Accaron at the side: and bendeth to Sechrona, and passeth mount Baala: and cometh into Jebneel, and is bounded westward with the great sea. Καὶ διεκβάλλει τὸ ὅριον κατὰ νώτου Ἀκκαρὼν ἐπὶ βοῤῥᾶν, καὶ διεκβαλεῖ τὰ ὅρια εἰς Σοκχὼθ, καὶ παρελεύσεται ὅρια ἐπὶ Λίβα, καὶ διεκβαλεῖ ἐπὶ Λεβνὰ, καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος τῶν ὁρίων ἐπὶ θάλασσαν·
Josue 16 6 Egrediunturque confinia in mare : Machmethath vero aquilonem respicit, et circuit terminos contra orientem in Thanathselo : et pertransit ab oriente Janoe. And the confines go out unto the sea: but Machmethath looketh to the north, and it goeth round the borders eastward into Thanath-selo: and passeth along on the east side to Janoe. Josue 17 9 Descenditque terminus vallis arundineti in meridiem torrentis civitatum Ephraim, quae in medio sunt urbium Manasse : terminus Manasse ab aquilone torrentis, et exitus ejus pergit ad mare : And the border goeth down to the valley of the reeds, to the south of the torrent of the cities of Ephraim, which are in the midst of the cities of Manasses: the border of Manasses is on the north side of the torrent, and the outgoings of it are at the sea: Καὶ καταβήσεται τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ φάραγγα Καρανὰ ἐπὶ Λίβα κατὰ φάραγγα Ἰαριὴλ· τερέμινθος τῷ Ἐφραῒμ ἀναμέσον πόλεως Μανασσῆ· καὶ ὅρια Μανασσῆ ἐπὶ τὸν βοῤῥᾶν εἰς τὸν χειμάῤῥουν· καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῦ ἡ διέξοδος θάλασσα
Josue 18 5 Dividite vobis terram in septem partes : Judas sit in terminis suis ab australi plaga, et domus Joseph ab aquilone. Divide to yourselves the land into seven parts: let Juda be in his bounds on the south side, and the house of Joseph on the north. καὶ διεῖλεν αὐτοῖς ἑπτὰ μερίδας· Ἰούδας στήσεται αὐτοῖς ὅριον ἀπὸ Λιβὸς, καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰωσὴφ στήσονται αὐτοῖς ἀπὸ Βοῤῥᾶ.

Josue 18 15 A meridie autem ex parte Cariathiarim egreditur terminus contra mare, et pervenit usque ad fontem aquarum Nephtoa. But on the south side the border goeth out from part of Cariathiarim towards the sea, and cometh to the fountain of the waters of Nephtoa. Καὶ μέρος τὸ πρὸς Λίβα ἀπὸ μέρους Καριὰθ Βαάλ· καὶ διελεύσεται ὅρια εἰς Γασὶν, ἐπὶ πηγὴν ὕδατος Ναφθώ.
Josue 18 16 Descenditque in partem montis, qui respicit vallem filiorum Ennom : et est contra septentrionalem plagam in extrema parte vallis Raphaim. Descenditque in Geennom (id est, vallem Ennom) juxta latus Jebusaei ad austrum : et pervenit ad fontem Rogel, And it goeth down to that part of the mountain that looketh on the valley of the children of Ennom: and is over against the north quarter in the furthermost part of the valley of Raphaim, and it goeth down into Geennom (that is the valley of Ennom) by the side of the Jebusite to the south: and cometh to the fountain of Rogel, Καὶ καταβήσεται τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ μέρους, τοῦτό ἐστι κατὰ πρόσωπον νάπης Σοννὰμ, ὅ ἐστιν ἐκ μέρους Ἐμὲκ Ῥαφαῒν ἀπὸ Βοῤῥᾶ, καὶ καταβήσεται Γαίεννα ἐπὶ νῶτον Ἰεβουσαὶ ἀπὸ Λιβός· καταβήσεται ἐπὶ πηγὴν Ῥωγήλ·
Josue 18 18 et pertransit usque ad tumulos, qui sunt e regione ascensus Adommim : descenditque ad Abenboen, id est, lapidem Boen filii Ruben : et pertransit ex latere aquilonis ad campestria : descenditque in planitiem, And It passeth along to the hills that are over against the ascent of Adommim: and it goeth down to Abenboen, that is, the stone of Boen the son of Ruben: and it passeth on the north side to the champaign countries; and goeth down Into the plain, καὶ διελεύσεται κατὰ νώτου Βαιθάραβα ἀπὸ Βοῤῥᾶ, καὶ καταβήσεται ἐπὶ τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ νῶτον θάλασσαν ἀπὸ Βοῤῥᾶ.
Josue 18 20 qui est terminus illius ab oriente. Haec est possessio filiorum Benjamin per terminos suos in circuitu, et familias suas. Which is the border of it on the east side. This is the possession of the children of Benjamin by their borders round about, and their families. Καὶ ὁ Ἰορδάνης ὁριεῖ ἀπὸ μέρους ἀνατολῶν· αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία υἱῶν Βενιαμὶν, τὰ ὅρια αὐτῆς κύκλῳ κατὰ δήμους.
Josue 19 13 Et inde pertransit usque ad orientalem plagam Gethepher et Thacasin : et egreditur in Remmon, Amthar et Noa. And it passeth along from thence to the east side of Gethhepher and Thacasin: and goeth out to Remmon, Amthar and Noa. Καὶ ἐκεῖθεν περιελεύσεται ἐξ ἐναντίας ἐπʼ ἀνατολὰς ἐπὶ Γεβερὲ ἐπὶ πόλιν Κατασὲμ, καὶ διελεύσεται ἐπὶ Ῥεμμωναὰ Μαθαραοζά.
Josue 19 27 ac revertitur contra orientem Bethdagon : et pertransit usque Zabulon et vallem Jephthael contra aquilonem in Bethemec et Nehiel. Egrediturque ad laevam Cabul, And it returneth towards the east to Bethdagon: and passeth along to Zabulon and to the valley of Jephthael towards the north to Bethemec and Nehiel. And it goeth out to the left side of Cabul, Καὶ ἐπιστρέψει ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου καὶ Βαιθεγενὲθ, καὶ συνάψει τῷ Ζαβουλὼν καὶ Ἐκγαῖ, καὶ Φθαιὴλ κατὰ Βοῤῥᾶν, καὶ εἰσελεύσεται ὅρια Σαφθαιβαιθμὲ, καὶ Ἰναὴλ, καὶ διελεύσεται εἰς Χωβαμασομὲλ,
Josue 23 13 jam nunc scitote quod Dominus Deus vester non eas deleat ante faciem vestram, sed sint vobis in foveam ac laqueum, et offendiculum ex latere vestro, et sudes in oculis vestris, donec vos auferat atque disperdat de terra hac optima, quam tradidit vobis. Know ye for a certainty that the Lord your God will not destroy them before your face, but they shall be a pit and a snare in your way, and a stumbling-block at your side, and stakes in your eyes, till he take you away and destroy you from off this excellent land, which he hath given you. γινώσκετε ὅτι οὐ μὴ προσθῇ Κύριος τοῦ ἐξολοθρεῦσαι τὰ ἔθνη ταῦτα ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν· καὶ ἔσονται ὑμῖν εἰς παγίδας, καὶ εἰς σκάνδαλα, καὶ εἰς ἥλους ἐν ταῖς πτέρναις ὑμῶν, καὶ εἰς βολίδας ἐν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς ὑμῶν, ἕως ἂν ἀπόλησθε ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς τῆς ἀγαθῆς ταύτης, ἣν ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν.
Josue 24 2 et ad populum sic locutus est : Haec dicit Dominus Deus Israel : Trans fluvium habitaverunt patres vestri ab initio, Thare pater Abraham et Nachor : servieruntque diis alienis. And he spoke thus to the people: Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: Your fathers dwelt of old on the other side of the river, Thare the father of Abraham, and Nachor: and they served strange gods. Josue 24 30 sepelieruntque eum in finibus possessionis suae in Thamnathsare, quae est sita in monte Ephraim, a septentrionali parte montis Gaas. And they buried him in the border of his possession in Thamnathsare, which is situate in mount Ephraim, on the north side of mount Gaas. Καὶ ἐγένετο μετʼ ἐκεῖνα καὶ ἀπέθανεν Ἰησοῦς υἱὸς Ναυῆ δοῦλος Κυρίου ἐκατὸν δέκα ἐτῶν.

Judges 7 5 Cumque descendisset populus ad aquas, dixit Dominus ad Gedeon : Qui lingua lambuerint aquas, sicut solent canes lambere, separabis eos seorsum : qui autem curvatis genibus biberint, in altera parte erunt. And when the people were come down to the waters, the Lord said to Gedeon: They that shall lap the water with their tongues, as dogs are wont to lap, thou shalt set apart by themselves: but they that shall drink bowing down their knees, shall be on the other side. Καὶ κατήνεγκε τὸν λαὸν πρὸς τὸ ὕδωρ· καὶ εἶπε Κύριος πρὸς Γεδεὼν, πᾶς ὃς ἂν λάψῃ τῇ γλώσσῃ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕδατος ὡς ἐὰν λάψῃ ὁ κύων, στήσεις αὐτὸν κατὰ μόνας, καὶ πᾶς ὃς ἐὰν κλίνῃ ἐπὶ τὰ γόνατα αὐτοῦ πιεῖν.
Judges 7 18 Quando personuerit tuba in manu mea, vos quoque per castrorum circuitum clangite, et conclamate : Domino et Gedeoni. When the trumpet shall sound in my hand, do you also blow the trumpets on every side of the camp, and shout together to the Lord and to Gedeon. And so it was, that they were slain on both sides by the enemies, and there was no rest of their men dying. They fell and were beaten down on the east side of the city of Gabaa. Luke 8 5 Exiit qui seminat, seminare semen suum. Et dum seminat, aliud cecidit secus viam, et conculcatum est, et volucres caeli comederunt illud. The sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the way side. And it was trodden down: and the fowls of the air devoured it. Ἐξῆλθεν ὁ σπείρων τοῦ σπεῖραι τὸν σπόρον αὐτοῦ. Καὶ ἐν τῷ σπείρειν αὐτόν, ὃ μὲν ἔπεσεν παρὰ τὴν ὁδόν, καὶ κατεπατήθη, καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κατέφαγεν αὐτό."
Luke 8 12 Qui autem secus viam, hi sunt qui audiunt : deinde venit diabolus, et tollit verbum de corde eorum, ne credentes salvi fiant. And they by the way side are they that hear: then the devil cometh and taketh the word out of their heart, lest believing they should be saved. Οἱ δὲ παρὰ τὴν ὁδὸν εἰσὶν οἱ ἀκούοντες, εἶτα ἔρχεται ὁ διάβολος καὶ αἴρει τὸν λόγον ἀπὸ τῆς καρδίας αὐτῶν, ἵνα μὴ πιστεύσαντες σωθῶσιν."
Luke 8 22 Factum est autem in una dierum : et ipse ascendit in naviculam, et discipuli ejus, et ait ad illos : Transfretemus trans stagnum. Et ascenderunt. And it came to pass on a certain day that he went into a little ship with his disciples. And he said to them: Let us go over to the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. ¶Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν μιᾷ τῶν ἡμερῶν, καὶ αὐτὸς ἐνέβη εἰς πλοῖον καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς, Διέλθωμεν εἰς τὸ πέραν τῆς λίμνης. Καὶ ἀνήχθησαν."
Luke 18 35 Factum est autem, cum appropinquaret Jericho, caecus quidam sedebat secus viam, mendicans. Now it came to pass, when he drew nigh to Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the way side, begging. ¶Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ ἐγγίζειν αὐτὸν εἰς Ἰεριχώ, τυφλός τις ἐκάθητο παρὰ τὴν ὁδὸν προσαιτῶν·"
Luke 19 43 Quia venient dies in te : et circumdabunt te inimici tui vallo, et circumdabunt te : et coangustabunt te undique : For the days shall come upon thee: and thy enemies shall cast a trench about thee and compass thee round and straiten thee on every side, Ὅτι ἥξουσιν ἡμέραι ἐπὶ σέ, καὶ περιβαλοῦσιν οἱ ἐχθροί σου χάρακά σοι, καὶ περικυκλώσουσίν σε, καὶ συνέξουσίν σε πάντοθεν,"
John 6 22 Altera die, turba, quae stabat trans mare, vidit quia navicula alia non erat ibi nisi una, et quia non introisset cum discipulis suis Jesus in navim, sed soli discipuli ejus abiissent : The next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other ship there but one: and that Jesus had not entered into the ship with his disciples, but that his disciples were gone away alone. ¶Τῇ ἐπαύριον ὁ ὄχλος ὁ ἑστηκὼς πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης, ἰδὼν ὅτι πλοιάριον ἄλλο οὐκ ἦν ἐκεῖ εἰ μὴ ἓν ἐκεῖνο εἰς ὃ ἐνέβησαν οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὅτι οὐ συνεισῆλθεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸ πλοιάριον, ἀλλὰ μόνοι οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἀπῆλθον-"
John 6 25 Et cum invenissent eum trans mare, dixerunt ei : Rabbi, quando huc venisti ? And when they had found him on that other side of the sea, they said to him: Rabbi, when camest thou hither? Καὶ εὑρόντες αὐτὸν πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης, εἶπον αὐτῷ, Ῥαββί, πότε ὧδε γέγονας;"
John 19 18 ubi crucifixerunt eum, et cum eo alios duos hinc et hinc, medium autem Jesum. Where they crucified him, and with him two others, one on each side, and Jesus in the midst. ὅπου αὐτὸν ἐσταύρωσαν, καὶ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἄλλους δύο, ἐντεῦθεν καὶ ἐντεῦθεν, μέσον δὲ τὸν Ἰησοῦν."
John 19 34 sed unus militum lancea latus ejus aperuit, et continuo exivit sanguis et aqua. But one of the soldiers with a spear opened his side: and immediately there came out blood and water. ἀλλ’ εἷς τῶν στρατιωτῶν λόγχῃ αὐτοῦ τὴν πλευρὰν ἔνυξεν, καὶ εὐθέως ἐξῆλθεν αἷμα καὶ ὕδωρ."
John 20 20 Et cum hoc dixisset, ostendit eis manus et latus. Gavisi sunt ergo discipuli, viso Domino. And when he had said this, he shewed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord. Καὶ τοῦτο εἰπὼν ἔδειξεν αὐτοῖς τὰς χεῖρας καὶ τὴν πλευρὰν αὐτοῦ. Ἐχάρησαν οὖν οἱ μαθηταὶ ἰδόντες τὸν κύριον.
John 20 25 Dixerunt ergo ei alii discipuli : Vidimus Dominum. Ille autem dixit eis : Nisi videro in manibus ejus fixuram clavorum, et mittam digitum meum in locum clavorum, et mittam manum meam in latus ejus, non credam. The other disciples therefore said to him: We have seen the Lord. But he said to them: Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the place of the nails and put my hand into his side, I will not believe. Ἔλεγον οὖν αὐτῷ οἱ ἄλλοι μαθηταί, Ἑωράκαμεν τὸν κύριον. Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, Ἐὰν μὴ ἴδω ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτοῦ τὸν τύπον τῶν ἥλων, καὶ βάλω τὸν δάκτυλόν μου εἰς τὸν τύπον τῶν ἥλων, καὶ βάλω τὴν χεῖρά μου εἰς τὴν πλευρὰν αὐτοῦ, οὐ μὴ πιστεύσω."
John 20 27 Deinde dicit Thomae : Infer digitum tuum huc, et vide manus meas, et affer manum tuam, et mitte in latus meum : et noli esse incredulus, sed fidelis. Then he said to Thomas: Put in thy finger hither and see my hands. And bring hither the hand and put it into my side. And be not faithless, but believing. Εἶτα λέγει τῷ Θωμᾷ, Φέρε τὸν δάκτυλόν σου ὧδε, καὶ ἴδε τὰς χεῖράς μου· καὶ φέρε τὴν χεῖρά σου, καὶ βάλε εἰς τὴν πλευράν μου· καὶ μὴ γίνου ἄπιστος, ἀλλὰ πιστός."
John 21 6 Dicit eis : Mittite in dexteram navigii rete, et invenietis. Miserunt ergo : et jam non valebant illud trahere prae multitudine piscium. He saith to them: Cast the net on the right side of the ship; and you shall find. They cast therefore: and now they were not able to draw it, for the multitude of fishes. Ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, Βάλετε εἰς τὰ δεξιὰ μέρη τοῦ πλοίου τὸ δίκτυον, καὶ εὑρήσετε. Ἔβαλον οὖν, καὶ οὐκέτι αὐτὸ ἑλκύσαι ἴσχυσαν ἀπὸ τοῦ πλήθους τῶν ἰχθύων."
Acts 10 6 hic hospitatur apud Simonem quemdam coriarium, cujus est domus juxta mare : hic dicet tibi quid te oporteat facere. He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side. He will tell thee what thou must do. οὗτος ξενίζεται παρά τινι Σίμωνι βυρσεῖ, ᾧ ἐστιν οἰκία παρὰ θάλασσαν."
Acts 10 32 Mitte ergo in Joppen, et accersi Simonem qui cognominatur Petrus : hic hospitatur in domo Simonis coriarii juxta mare. Send therefore to Joppe: and call hither Simon, who is surnamed Peter. He lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side. Πέμψον οὖν εἰς Ἰόππην, καὶ μετακάλεσαι Σίμωνα ὃς ἐπικαλεῖται Πέτρος· οὗτος ξενίζεται ἐν οἰκίᾳ Σίμωνος βυρσέως παρὰ θάλασσαν· ὃς παραγενόμενος λαλήσει σοι."
Acts 12 7 Et ecce angelus Domini astitit, et lumen refulsit in habitaculo : percussoque latere Petri, excitavit eum, dicens : Surge velociter. Et ceciderunt catenae de manibus ejus. And behold an angel of the Lord stood by him and a light shined in the room. And he, striking Peter on the side, raised him up, saying: Arise quickly. And the chains fell off from his hands. Καὶ ἰδού, ἄγγελος κυρίου ἐπέστη, καὶ φῶς ἔλαμψεν ἐν τῷ οἰκήματι· πατάξας δὲ τὴν πλευρὰν τοῦ Πέτρου, ἤγειρεν αὐτὸν λέγων, Ἀνάστα ἐν τάχει. Καὶ ἐξέπεσον αὐτοῦ αἱ ἁλύσεις ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν."
Acts 15 2 Facta ergo seditione non minima Paulo et Barnabae adversus illos, statuerunt ut ascenderent Paulus et Barnabas, et quidam alii ex aliis ad Apostolos et presbyteros in Jerusalem super hac quaestione. And when Paul and Barnabas had no small contest with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas and certain others of the other side should go up to the apostles and priests to Jerusalem, about this question. Γενομένης οὖν στάσεως καὶ ζητήσεως οὐκ ὀλίγης τῷ Παύλῳ καὶ τῷ Βαρνάβᾳ πρὸς αὐτούς, ἔταξαν ἀναβαίνειν Παῦλον καὶ Βαρνάβαν καί τινας ἄλλους ἐξ αὐτῶν πρὸς τοὺς ἀποστόλους καὶ πρεσβυτέρους εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ περὶ τοῦ ζητήματος τούτου."
Acts 16 13 Die autem sabbatorum egressi sumus foras portam juxta flumen, ubi videbatur oratio esse : et sedentes loquebamur mulieribus quae convenerant. And upon the Sabbath day, we went forth without the gate by a river side, where it seemed that there was prayer: and sitting down, we spoke to the women that were assembled. Τῇ τε ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτων ἐξήλθομεν ἔξω τῆς πόλεως παρὰ ποταμόν, οὗ ἐνομίζετο προσευχὴ εἶναι, καὶ καθίσαντες ἐλαλοῦμεν ταῖς συνελθούσαις γυναιξίν."
1_Timothy 5 21 Testor coram Deo et Christo Jesu, et electis angelis, ut haec custodias sine praejudicio, nihil faciens in alteram partem declinando. I charge thee, before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by declining to either side. Διαμαρτύρομαι ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ καὶ τῶν ἐκλεκτῶν ἀγγέλων, ἵνα ταῦτα φυλάξῃς χωρὶς προκρίματος, μηδὲν ποιῶν κατὰ πρόσκλησιν."
