But she not finding where her foot might rest, returned to him into the ark: for the waters were upon the whole earth: and he put forth his hand, and caught her, and brought her into the ark.

Leviticus 1 9 intestinis et pedibus lotis aqua : adolebitque ea sacerdos super altare in holocaustum et suavem odorem Domino. The entrails and feet being washed with water. And the priest shall burn them upon the altar for a holocaust, and a sweet savour to the Lord.
Leviticus 1 13 intestina vero et pedes lavabunt aqua. Et oblata omnia adolebit sacerdos super altare in holocaustum et odorem suavissimum Domino. But the entrails and the feet they shall wash with water. And the priest shall offer it all and burn it all upon the altar for a holocaust, and most sweet savour to the Lord.
He immolated it, and poured the blood thereof round about the altar.
And when Moses had immolated it, he took of the blood thereof, and touched the tip of Aaron's right ear, and the thumb of his right hand, and in like manner also the great toe of his right foot.
Leviticus 9 14 lotis aqua prius intestinis et pedibus. Having first washed the entrails and the feet with water.
But whatsoever walketh upon four feet, but hath the legs behind longer, wherewith it hoppeth upon the earth,
Leviticus 11 23 Quidquid autem ex volucribus quatuor tantum habet pedes, execrabile erit vobis : But of flying things whatsoever hath four feet only, shall be an abomination to you.
Whatsoever goeth upon the breast on four feet, or hath many feet, or traileth on the earth, you shall not eat, because it is abominable.
Leviticus 13 12 Sin autem effloruerit discurrens lepra in cute, et operuerit omnem cutem a capite usque ad pedes, quidquid sub aspectum oculorum cadit, But if the leprosy spring out running about in the skin, and cover all the skin from the head to the feet, whatsoever falleth under the sight of the eyes: Ἐὰν δὲ ἀνθοῦσα ἐξανθήσῃ λέπρα ἐν τῷ δέρματι, καὶ καλύψῃ ἡ λέπρα πᾶν τὸ δέρμα τῆς ἁφῆς ἀπὸ κεφαλῆς ἕως ποδῶν, καθʼ ὅλην τὴν ὅρασιν τοῦ ἱερέως·
At ille iterum verberabat eam : And the ass seeing him, thrust herself close to the wall, and bruised the foot of the rider. But he beat her again: Καὶ ἰδοῦσα ἡ ὄνος τὸν ἄγγελον τοῦ Θεοῦ, προσέθλιψεν ἑαυτὴν πρὸς τὸν τοῖχον, καὶ ἀπέθλιψεν τὸν πόδα Βαλαὰμ πρὸς τὸν τοῖχον· καὶ προσέθετο ἔτι μαστίξαι αὐτήν.
Deuteronomy 2 5 Videte ergo diligenter ne moveamini contra eos. Take ye then good heed that you stir not against them. For I will not give you of their land so much as the step of one foot can tread upon, because I have given mount Seir to Esau, for a possession.
Deuteronomy 8 4 Vestimentum tuum, quo operiebaris, nequaquam vetustate defecit, et pes tuus non est subtritus, en quadragesimus annus est : Thy raiment, with which thou wast covered, hath not decayed for age, and thy foot is not worn, lo this is the fortieth year, Τὰ ἱμάτιά σου οὐκ ἐπαλαιώθη ἀπὸ σοῦ, τὰ ὑποδήματά σου οὐ κατετρίβη ἀπὸ σοῦ· οἱ πόδες σου οὐκ ἐτυλώθησαν, ἰδοὺ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη.
For the land, which thou goest to possess, is not like the land of Egypt, from whence thou camest out, where, when the seed is sown, waters are brought in to water it after the manner of gardens.
Deuteronomy 28 35 Percutiat te Dominus ulcere pessimo in genibus et in suris, sanarique non possis a planta pedis usque ad verticem tuum. May the Lord strike thee with a very sore ulcer in the knees and in the legs, and be thou incurable from the sole of the foot to the top of the head.
Dabit enim tibi Dominus ibi cor pavidum, et deficientes oculos, et animam consumptam moerore : Neither shalt thou be quiet, even in those nations, nor shall there be any rest for the sole of thy foot. For the Lord will give thee a fearful heart, and languishing eyes, and a soul consumed with pensiveness:
He hath brought you forty years through the desert: your garments are not worn out, neither are the shoes of your feet consumed with age.
Deuteronomy 33 24 Aser quoque ait : [Benedictus in filiis Aser, sit placens fratribus suis, et tingat in oleo pedem suum : To Aser also he said: Let Aser be blessed with children, let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.
Josue 1 3 Omnem locum, quem calcaverit vestigium pedis vestri, vobis tradam, sicut locutus sum Moysi. I will deliver to you every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, as I have said to Moses.
And when the priests, that carry the ark of the Lord the God of the whole earth, shall set the soles of their feet in the waters of the Jordan, the waters that are beneath shall run down and go off: and those that come from above, shall stand together upon a heap.
Josue 3 15 Ingressisque eis Jordanem, et pedibus eorum in parte aquae tinctis (Jordanis autem ripas alvei sui tempore messis impleverat), And as soon as they came into the Jordan, and their feet were dipped in part of the water, (now the Jordan, it being harvest time, had filled the banks of its channel,) Ὡς δὲ εἰσεπορεύοντο οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ αἴροντες τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης ἐπὶ τὸν Ἰορδάνην, καὶ οἱ πόδες τῶν ἱερέων τῶν αἰρόντων τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης Κυρίου ἐβάφησαν εἰς μέρος τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ Ἰορδάνου· ὁ δὲ Ἰορδάνης ἐπληροῦτο καθʼ ὅλην τὴν κρηπίδα αὐτοῦ, ὡσεὶ ἡμέραι θερισμοῦ πυρῶν·
Josue 4 9 Alios quoque duodecim lapides posuit Josue in medio Jordanis alveo, ubi steterunt sacerdotes qui portabant arcam foederis : et sunt ibi usque in praesentem diem. And Josue put other twelve stones in the midst of the channel of the Jordan, where the priests stood that carried the ark of the covenant: and they are there until this present day.
Josue 4 18 Cumque ascendissent portantes arcam foederis Domini, et siccam humum calcare coepissent, reversae sunt aquae in alveum suum, et fluebant sicut ante consueverant. And when they that carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, were come up, and began to tread on the dry ground, the waters returned into their channel, and ran as they were wont before.
Josue 9 5 calceamentaque perantiqua quae ad indicium vetustatis pittaciis consuta erant, induti veteribus vestimentis : panes quoque, quos portabant ob viaticum, duri erant, et in frustra comminuti : And very old shoes, which for a show of age were clouted with patches, and old garments upon them: the loaves also, which they carried for provisions by the way, were hard, and broken into pieces: καὶ τὰ κοῖλα τῶν ὑποδημάτων αὐτῶν, καὶ τὰ σανδάλια αὐτῶν παλαιὰ καὶ καταπεπελματωμένα ἐν τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτῶν, καὶ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν πεπαλαιωμένα ἐπάνω αὐτῶν, καὶ ὁ ἄρτος αὐτῶν τοῦ ἐπισιτισμοῦ ξηρὸς καὶ εὐρωτιῶν καὶ βεβρωμένος.
Qui cum perrexissent, et subjectorum colla pedibus calcarent, And when they were brought out to him, he called all the men of Israel, and said to the chiefs of the army that were with him: Go, and set your feet on the necks of these kings. And when they had gone, and put their feet upon the necks of them lying under them, Καὶ ἐπεὶ ἐξήγαγον αὐτοὺς πρὸς Ἰησοῦν, καὶ συνεκάλεσεν Ἰησοῦς πάντα Ἰσραὴλ, καὶ τοὺς ἐναρχομένους τοῦ πολέμου τοὺς συμπορευομένους αὐτῷ, λέγων αὐτοῖς, προπορεύεσθε καὶ ἐπίθετε τοὺς πόδας ὑμῶν ἐπὶ τοὺς τραχήλους αὐτῶν· καὶ προσελθόντες ἐπέθηκαν τοὺς πόδας αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τοὺς τραχήλους αὐτῶν.

And Adonibezec fled: and they pursued after him and took him, and cut off his fingers and toes.
Judges 1 7 Dixitque Adonibezec : Septuaginta reges amputatis manuum ac pedum summitatibus colligebant sub mensa mea ciborum reliquias : sicut feci, ita reddidit mihi Deus. Adduxeruntque eum in Jerusalem, et ibi mortuus est. And Adonibezec said: Seventy kings, having their fingers and toes cut off, gathered up the leavings of the meat under my table: as I have done, so hath God requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.
Judges 3 24 per posticum egressus est. Servique regis ingressi viderunt clausas fores coenaculi, atque dixerunt : Forsitan purgat alvum in aestivo cubiculo. Went out by a postern door. And the king's servants going in, saw the doors of the parlour shut, and they said: Perhaps he is easing nature in his summer parlour. Καὶ αὐτὸς ἐξῆλθε· καὶ οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ ἐπῆλθον καὶ εἶδον, καὶ ἰδοὺ αἱ θύραι τοῦ ὑπερῴου ἐσφηνωμέναι· καὶ εἶπαν, μήποτε ἀποκενοῖ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ ταμείῳ τῷ θερινῷ;
Judges 4 10 Qui, accitis Zabulon et Nephthali, ascendit cum decem millibus pugnatorum, habens Debboram in comitatu suo. And he called unto him Zabulon and Nephthali, and went up with ten thousand fighting men, having Debbora in his company.
Judges 4 15 Perterruitque Dominus Sisaram, et omnes currus ejus, universamque multitudinem in ore gladii ad conspectum Barac : in tantum, ut Sisara de curru desiliens, pedibus fugeret, And the Lord struck a terror into Sisara, and all his chariots, and all his multitude, with the edge of the sword, at the sight of Barac; insomuch, that Sisara leaping down from off his chariot, fled away on foot, Καὶ ἐξέστησε Κύριος τὸν Σισάρα καὶ πάντα τὰ ἅρματα αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν παρεμβολὴν αὐτοῦ ἐν στόματι ῥομφαίας ἐνώπιον Βαράκ· καὶ κατέβη Σισάρα ἐπάνωθεν τοὺ ἄρματος αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔφυγε τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτοῦ.
But Sisara fleeing, came to the tent of Jahel, the wife of Haber, the Cinite, for there was peace between Jabin, the king of Asor, and the house of Haber, the Cinite.
The captains of Issachar were with Debbora, and followed the steps of Barac, who exposed himself to danger, as one going headlong, and into a pit. Ruben being divided against himself, there was found a strife of courageous men.
Between her feet he fell: he fainted, and he died: he rolled before her feet, and there he lay lifeless and wretched.

Judges 5 28 Per fenestram respiciens, ululabat mater ejus : et de coenaculo loquebatur : Cur moratur regredi currus ejus ? quare tardaverunt pedes quadrigarum illius ? His mother looked out at a window, and howled: and she spoke from the dining room: Why is his chariot so long in coming back? Why are the feet of his horses so slow? Διὰ τῆς θυρίδος παρέκυψε μήτηρ Σισάρα ἐκτὸς τοῦ τοξικοῦ, διότι ᾐσχύνθη ἅρμα αὐτοῦ; διότι ἐχρόνισαν πόδες ἁρμάτων αὐτοῦ;
Judges 19 21 Introduxitque eum in domum suam, et pabulum asinis praebuit : ac postquam laverunt pedes suos, recepit eos in convivium. And he brought him into his house, and gave provender to his asses: and after they had washed their feet, he entertained them with a feast.
And so it was, that they were slain on both sides by the enemies, and there was no rest of their men dying. They fell and were beaten down on the east side of the city of Gabaa.
And when he shall go to sleep, mark the place wherein he sleepeth: and thou shalt go in, and lift up the clothes wherewith he is covered towards his feet, and shalt lay thyself down there: and he will tell thee what thou must do.
And when Booz had eaten, and drunk, and was merry, he went to sleep by the heap of sheaves, and she came softly, and uncovering his feet, laid herself down.
Ruth 3 8 Et ecce, nocte jam media expavit homo, et conturbatus est : viditque mulierem jacentem ad pedes suos, And behold, when it was now midnight the man was afraid, and troubled: and he saw a woman lying at his feet,
Ruth 3 14 Dormivit itaque ad pedes ejus, usque ad noctis abscessum. So she slept at his feet till the night was going off. And she arose before men could know one another, and Booz said: Beware lest any man know that thou camest hither.
Itaque alii cadebant ante Jonathan, alios armiger ejus interficiebat sequens eum. And Jonathan went up creeping on his hands and feet, and his armourbearer after him. And some fell before Jonathan, others his armourbearer slew as he followed him.
And she fell at his feet, and said: Upon me let this iniquity be, my lord: let thy handmaid speak, I beseech thee, in thy ears, and hear the words of thy servant.
And she arose, and bowed herself down with her face to the earth, and said: Behold, let thy servant be a handmaid, to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.
And there were the three sons of Sarvia there, Joab, and Abisai, and Asael: now Asael was a most swift runner, like one of the roes that abide in the woods.
Congeminansque omnis populus flevit super eum. Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet laden with fetters: but as men fall before the children of iniquity, so didst thou fall. And all the people repeating it wept over him.
And Jonathan the son of Saul had a son that was lame of his feet: for he was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan from Jezrahel. And his nurse took him up and fled: and as she made haste to flee, he fell and became lame: and his name was Miphiboseth.
Dixitque Siba regi : Superest filius Jonathae, debilis pedibus. And the king said: Is there any one left of the house of Saul, that I may shew the mercy of God unto Him? And Siba said to the king: There is a son of Jonathan left, who is lame of his feet.
And David said to Urias: Go into thy house, and wash thy feet. And Urias went out from the king's house, and there went out after him a mess of meat from the king.
And the king went forth, and all his household on foot: and the king left ten women his concubines to keep the house: Καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ πᾶς ὁ οἶκος αὐτοῦ τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτῶν· καὶ ἀφῆκεν ὁ βασιλεὺς δέκα γυναῖκας τῶν παλλακῶν αὐτοῦ φυλάσσειν τὸν οἶκον.
And all his servants walked by him, and the bands of the Cerethi, and the Phelethi, and all the Gethites, valiant warriors, six hundred men who had followed him from Geth on foot, went before the king.
2_Kings 19 24 Miphiboseth quoque filius Saul descendit in occursum regis, illotis pedibus et intonsa barba : vestesque suas non laverat a die qua egressus fuerat rex, usque ad diem reversionis ejus in pace. And Miphiboseth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and he had neither washed his feet, nor trimmed his beard: nor washed his garments from the day that the king went out, until the day of his return in peace.
2_Kings 21 20 Quartum bellum fuit in Geth : in quo vir fuit excelsus, qui senos in manibus pedibusque habebat digitos, id est, viginti quatuor : et erat de origine Arapha. A fourth battle was in Geth: where there was a man of great stature, that had six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot, four and twenty in all, and he was of the race of Arapha.
2_Kings 22 10 Inclinavit caelos, et descendit : et caligo sub pedibus ejus. He bowed the heavens, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.
2_Kings 22 34 Coaequans pedes meos cervis, et super excelsa mea statuens me ; Making my feet like the feet of harts, and setting me upon my high places.
I will consume them and break them in pieces, so that they shall not rise: they shall fall under my feet.
3_Kings 5 3 Tu scis voluntatem David patris mei, et quia non potuerit aedificare domum nomini Domini Dei sui propter bella imminentia per circuitum, donec daret Dominus eos sub vestigio pedum ejus. Thou knowest the will of David, my father, and that he could not build a house to the name of the Lord his God, because of the wars that were round about him, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.
Verumtamen in tempore senectutis suae doluit pedes. But the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his strength, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
And Elias said to Achab: Go up, eat and drink: for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
So the king of Israel, and the king of Juda, and the king of Edom, went, and they fetched a compass of seven days journey, and there was no water for the army, and for the beasts, that followed them.
And when she came to the man of God, to the mount, she caught hold on his feet: and Giezi came to remove her. And the man of God said: Let her alone for her soul is in anguish, and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.
She came and fell at his feet, and worshipped upon the ground: and took up her son, and went out.
4_Kings 6 32 Eliseus autem sedebat in domo sua, et senes sedebant cum eo. Praemisit itaque virum : et antequam veniret nuntius ille, dixit ad senes : Numquid scitis quod miserit filius homicidae hic, ut praecidatur caput meum ? videte ergo : cum venerit nuntius, claudite ostium, et non sinatis eum introire : ecce enim sonitus pedum domini ejus post eum est. But Eliseus sat in his house, and the ancients sat with him. So he sent a man before: and before that messenger came, he said to the ancients: Do you know that this son of a murderer hath sent to cut off my head? Look then when the messenger shall come, shut the door, and suffer him not to come in: for behold the sound of his master's feet is behind him. Καὶ Ἑλισαιὲ ἐκάθητο ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ, καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι ἐκάθηντο μετʼ αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἄνδρα πρὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ· πρὶν ἐλθεῖν τὸν ἄγγελον πρὸς αὐτόν, καὶ αὐτὸς εἶπε πρὸς τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους, εἰ εἴδετε ὅτι ἀπέστειλεν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ φονευτοῦ οὗτος ἀφελεῖν τὴν κεφαλήν μου; ἴδετε ὡς ἂν ἔλθῃ ὁ ἄγγελος, ἀποκλείσατε τὴν θύραν, καὶ παραθλίψατε αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ θύρᾳ· οὐχὶ φωνὴ τῶν ποδῶν τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ κατόπισθεν αὐτοῦ;
And when they went to bury her, they found nothing but the skull, and the feet, and the extremities of her hands.
And some that were burying a man, saw the rovers, and cast the body into the sepulchre of Eliseus. And when it had touched the bones of Eliseus, the man came to life and stood upon his feet.
4_Kings 19 24 ego succidi. Et bibi aquas alienas, et siccavi vestigiis pedum meorum omnes aquas clausas. I have cut down, and I have drunk strange waters, and have dried up with the soles of my feet all the shut up waters.
And I will no more make the feet of Israel to be moved out of the land, which I gave to their fathers: only if they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, according to the law which my servant Moses commanded them.
And the king rising up, and standing said: Hear me, my brethren and my people: I had a thought to have built a house, in which the ark of the Lord, and the footstool of our God might rest: and prepared all things for the building.
So the wings of the two cherubims were spread forth, and were extended twenty cubits: and they stood upright on their feet, and their faces were turned toward the house without.
And Asa fell sick in the nine and thirtieth year of his reign, of a most violent pain in his feet, and yet in his illness he did not seek the Lord, but rather trusted in the skill of physicians.
And I will not make the foot of Israel to be removed out of the land which I have delivered to their fathers: yet so if they will take heed to do what I have commanded them, and all the law, and the ceremonies, and judgments by the hand of Moses.
Job 2 7 Egressus igitur Satan a facie Domini, percussit Job ulcere pessimo, a planta pedis usque ad verticem ejus ; So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with a very grievous ulcer, from the sole of the foot even to the top of his head:
Job 13 27 Posuisti in nervo pedem meum, et observasti omnes semitas meas, et vestigia pedum meorum considerasti : Thou hast put my feet in the stocks, and hast observed all my paths, and hast considered the steps of my feet:
Job 13 27 Posuisti in nervo pedem meum, et observasti omnes semitas meas, et vestigia pedum meorum considerasti : Thou hast put my feet in the stocks, and hast observed all my paths, and hast considered the steps of my feet:
Job 18 11 Undique terrebunt eum formidines, et involvent pedes ejus. Fears shall terrify him on every side, and shall entangle his feet.
Job 18 13 Devoret pulchritudinem cutis ejus ; consumat brachia illius primogenita mors. Let it devour the beauty of his skin, let the firstborn death consume his arms.
Job 30 12 Ad dexteram orientis calamitates meae illico surrexerunt : pedes meos subverterunt, et oppresserunt quasi fluctibus semitis suis. At the right hand of my rising, my calamities forthwith arose: they have overthrown my feet, and have overwhelmed me with their paths as with waves.
Job 31 5 Si ambulavi in vanitate, et festinavit in dolo pes meus, If I have walked in vanity, and my foot hath made haste to deceit: Εἰ δὲ ἤμην πεπορευμένος μετὰ γελοιαστῶν, εἰ δὲ καὶ ἐσπούδασεν ὁ πούς μου εἰς δόλον·
Job 31 7 Si declinavit gressus meus de via, et si secutum est oculos meos cor meum, et si manibus meis adhaesit macula, If my step hath turned out of the way, and if my heart hath followed my eyes, and if a spot hath cleaved to my hands: Εἰ ἐξέκλινεν ὁ πούς μου ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ, εἰ δὲ καὶ τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ ἐπηκολούθησεν ἡ καρδία μου, εἰ δὲ καὶ ταῖς χερσί μου ἡψάμην δώρων,
Job 33 11 Posuit in nervo pedes meos ; custodivit omnes semitas meas. He hath put my feet in the stocks, he hath observed all my paths.
Proverbs 1 15 fili mi, ne ambules cum eis ; prohibe pedem tuum a semitis eorum : My son, walk not thou with them, restrain thy foot from their paths.
Then shalt thou walk confidently in thy way, and thy foot shall not stumble: ἵνα πορεύῃ πεποιθὼς ἐν εἰρήνῃ πάσας τὰς ὁδούς σου, ὁ δὲ πούς σου οὐ μὴ προσκόψῃ.
Proverbs 3 26 Dominus enim erit in latere tuo, et custodiet pedem tuum, ne capiaris.] For the Lord will be at thy side, and will keep thy foot that thou be not taken.
Proverbs 4 27 Ne declines ad dexteram neque ad sinistram ; averte pedem tuum a malo : vias enim quae a dextris sunt novit Dominus : perversae vero sunt quae a sinistris sunt. Ipse autem rectos faciet cursus tuos, itinera autem tua in pace producet.] Decline not to the right hand, nor to the left: turn away thy foot from evil. For the Lord knoweth the ways that are on the right hand: but those are perverse which are on the left hand. But he will make thy courses straight, he will bring forward thy ways in peace.
Her feet go down into death, and her steps go in as far as hell.
Proverbs 6 18 cor machinans cogitationes pessimas, pedes veloces ad currendum in malum, A heart that deviseth wicked plots, feet that are swift to run into mischief, καὶ καρδία τεκταινομένη λογισμοὺς κακοὺς, καὶ πόδες ἐπισπεύδοντες κακοποιεῖν.
Proverbs 6 28 aut ambulare super prunas, ut non comburantur plantae ejus ? Or can he walk upon hot coals, and his feet not be burnt? ἢ περιπατήσει τις ἐπʼ ἀνθράκων πυρὸς, τοὺς δὲ πόδας οὐ κατακαύσει;
Proverbs 7 11 quietis impatiens, nec valens in domo consistere pedibus suis ; Not bearing to be quiet, not able to abide still at home,
Withdraw thy foot from the house of thy neighbour, lest having his fill he hate thee.
Proverbs 29 5 Homo qui blandis fictisque sermonibus loquitur amico suo rete expandit gressibus ejus. A man that speaketh to his friend with flattering and dissembling words, spreadeth a net for his feet.
Canticle 5 3 <Sponsa>Expoliavi me tunica mea : quomodo induar illa ? lavi pedes meos : quomodo inquinabo illos ? I have put off my garment, how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet, how shall I defile them? Ἐξεδυσάμην τὸν χιτῶνά μου, πῶς ἐνδύοσμαι αὐτόν; ἐνιψάμην τοὺς πόδας μου, πῶς μολυνῶ αὐτούς;
From the sole of the foot unto the top of the head, there is no soundness therein: wounds and bruises and swelling sores: they are not bound up, nor dressed, nor fomented with oil.
As for my people, their oppressors have stripped them, and women have ruled over them. O my people, they that call thee blessed, the same deceive thee, and destroy the way of thy steps.
And the Lord said: Because the daughters of Sion are haughty, and have walked with stretched out necks, and wanton glances of their eyes, and made a noise as they walked with their feet and moved in a set pace:

Their arrows are sharp, and all their bows are bent. The hoofs of their horses shall be like the flint, and their wheels like the violence of a tempest.
Isaias 6 2 Seraphim stabant super illud : sex alae uni, et sex alae alteri ; duabus velabant faciem ejus, et duabus velabant pedes ejus, et duabus volabant. Upon it stood the seraphims: the one had six wings, and the other had six wings: with two they covered his face, and with two they covered his feet, and with two they flew.
In that day the Lord shall shave with a razor that is hired by them that are beyond the river, by the king of the Assyrians, the head and the hairs of the feet, and the whole beard.
Isaias 20 2 in tempore illo locutus est Dominus in manu Isaiae, filii Amos, dicens : Vade, et solve saccum de lumbis tuis, et calceamenta tua tolle de pedibus tuis. Et fecit sic, vadens nudus et discalceatus. At that same time the Lord spoke by the hand of Isaias the son of Amos, saying Go, and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and take off thy shoes from thy feet. And he did so, and went naked, and barefoot.
Isaias 26 6 Conculcabit eam pes, pedes pauperis, gressus egenorum. The foot shall tread it down, the feet of the poor, the steps of the needy.
Who hath raised up the just one from the east, hath called him to follow him? he shall give the nations in his sight, and he shall rule over kings: he shall give them as the dust to his sword, as stubble driven by the wind, to his bow.
Isaias 41 3 Persequetur eos, transibit in pace : semita in pedibus ejus non apparebit. He shall pursue them, he shall pass in peace, no path shall appear after his feet.
And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and queens thy nurses: they shall worship thee with their face toward the earth, and they shall lick up the dust of thy feet. And thou shalt know that I am the Lord, for they shall not be confounded that wait for him.
Isaias 52 7 [Quam pulchri super montes pedes annuntiantis et praedicantis pacem ; annuntiantis bonum, praedicantis salutem, dicentis Sion : Regnabit Deus tuus ! How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, and that preacheth peace: of him that sheweth forth good, that preacheth salvation, that saith to Sion: Thy God shall reign!
