3_Kings 8 47 et egerint poenitentiam in corde suo in loco captivitatis, et conversi deprecati te fuerint in captivitate sua, dicentes : Peccavimus : inique egimus, impie gessimus : Then if they do penance in their heart, in the place of captivity, and being converted, make supplication to thee in their captivity, saying: We have sinned, we have done unjustly, we have committed wickedness: καὶ ἐπιστρέψουσι καρδίας αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ γῇ οὗ μετήχθησαν ἐκεῖ, καὶ ἐπιστρέψωσιν ἐν γῇ μετοικίας αὐτῶν, καὶ δεηθῶσί σου, λέγοντες, ἡμάρτομεν, ἠδικήσαμεν, ἠνομήσαμεν,
And Roboam came to Jerusalem, and gathered together all the house of Juda, and the tribe of Benjamin, a hundred fourscore thousand chosen men for war, to fight against the house of Israel, and to bring the kingdom again under Roboam, the son of Solomon.
3_Kings 12 26 Dixitque Jeroboam in corde suo : Nunc revertetur regnum ad domum David, And Jeroboam said in his heart: Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David, Καὶ εἶπεν Ἱεροβοὰμ ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ, ἰδοὺ νῦν ἐπιστρέψει ἡ βασιλεία εἰς οἴκον Δαυίδ·
And when the king had heard the word of the man of God, which he had cried out against the altar in Bethel, he stretched forth his hand from the altar, saying: Lay hold on him. And his hand which he stretched forth against him, withered: and he was not able to draw it back again to him.
And the king said to the man of God: Entreat the face of the Lord thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me. And the man of God besought the face of the Lord, and the king's hand was restored to him, and it became as it was before.
Now a certain old prophet dwelt in Bethel, and his sons came to him, and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: and they told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.
But he said: I must not return, nor go with thee, neither will I eat bread, or drink water in this place: Καὶ εἶπεν, οὐ μὴ δύνωμαι τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι μετὰ σοῦ, οὐδὲ μὴ φάγομαι ἄρτον, οὐδὲ πίομαι ὕδωρ ἐν τῷ τόπῳ τούτῳ·
3_Kings 13 19 et reduxit secum : comedit ergo panem in domo ejus, et bibit aquam. And brought him back with him: so he ate bread, and drank water in his house.
And when that prophet, who had brought him back out of the way, heard of it, he said: It is the man of God, that was disobedient to the mouth of the Lord, and the Lord hath delivered him to the lion, and he hath torn him, and killed him, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke to him.
3_Kings 13 29 Tulit ergo prophetes cadaver viri Dei, et posuit illud super asinum, et reversus intulit in civitatem prophetae senis ut plangeret eum. And the prophet took up the body of the man of God, and laid it upon the ass, and going back brought it into the city of the old prophet, to mourn for him.
After these words, Jeroboam came not back from his wicked way: but on the contrary, he made of the meanest of the people priests of the high places: whosoever would, he filled his hand, and he was made a priest of the high places.
And he stretched, and measured himself upon the child three times, and cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord, my God, let the soul of this child, I beseech thee, return into his body.
He looked, and behold there was at his head a hearth cake, and a vessel of water: and he ate and drank, and he fell asleep again.
And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said to him: Arise, eat: for thou hast yet a great way to go.
And as the king passed by, he cried to the king, and said: Thy servant went out to fight hand to hand: and when a certain man was run away, one brought him to me, and said: Keep this man: and if he shall slip away, thy life shall be for his life, or thou shalt pay a talent of silver.
3_Kings 22 27 et dicite eis : Haec dicit rex : Mittite virum istum in carcerem, et sustentate eum pane tribulationis, et aqua angustiae, donec revertar in pace. And tell them: Thus saith the king: Put this man in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction, and water of distress till I return in peace.
4_Kings 1 5 Reversique sunt nuntii ad Ochoziam. Qui dixit eis : Quare reversi estis ? And the messengers turned back to Ochozias. And he said to them: Why are you come back? Καὶ ἐπεστράφησαν οἱ ἄγγελοι πρὸς αὐτόν· καὶ εἶπε πρὸς αὐτοὺς, τί ὅτι ἐπεστρέψατε;
4_Kings 2 13 Et levavit pallium Eliae, quod ceciderat ei : reversusque stetit super ripam Jordanis, And he took up the mantle of Elias, that fell from him: and going back, he stood on the bank of the Jordan; Καὶ ὕψωσε τὴν μηλωτὴν Ἠλιοὺ, ἣ ἔπεσεν ἐπάνωθεν Ἑλισαιέ· καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν Ἑλισαιὲ, καὶ ἔστη ἐπὶ τοῦ χείλους τοῦ Ἰορδάνου,
But Giezi was gone before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child, and there was no voice nor sense: and he returned to meet him, and told him, saying: The child is not risen.
And Eliseus returned to Galgal, and there was a famine in the land, and the sons of the prophets dwelt before him: And he said to one of his servants: Set on the great pot, and boil pottage for the sons of the prophets.
And Eliseus sent a messenger to him, saying: Go, and wash seven times in the Jordan, and thy flesh shall recover health, and thou shalt be clean.
Then he went down, and washed in the Jordan seven times, according to the word of the man of God; and his flesh was restored, like the flesh of a little child: and he was made clean.
And Giezi followed after Naaman: and when he saw him running after him, he leapt down from his chariot to meet him, and said: Is all well?
But he said: Was not my heart present, when the man turned back, from his chariot, to meet thee? So now thou hast received money, and received garments, to buy oliveyards and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and men-servants, and maid-servants.
So when these lepers were come to the beginning of the camp, they went into one tent, and ate and drank: and they took from thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went, and hid it: and they came again, and went into another tent, and carried from thence in like manner, and hid it.
And they went after them, as far as the Jordan: and behold, all the way was full of garments, and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away, in their fright, and the messengers returned, and told the king.
And when the seven years were ended, the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines, and she went forth to speak to the king for her house and for her lands.
And Joram turned his hand, and fleeing, said to Ochozias: There is treachery, Ochozias.
4_Kings 9 36 Reversique nuntiaverunt ei. Et ait Jehu : Sermo Domini est, quem locutus est per servum suum Eliam Thesbiten, dicens : In agro Jezrahel comedent canes carnes Jezabel, And coming back they told him. And Jehu said: It is the word of the Lord, which he spoke by his servant Elias, the Thesbite, saying: In the field of Jezrahel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezabel.
He built Elath, and restored it to Juda, after that the king slept with his fathers.
4_Kings 16 18 Musach quoque sabbati quod aedificaverat in templo : et ingressum regis exterius convertit in templum Domini propter regem Assyriorum. The Musach also for the sabbath, which he had built in the temple, and the king's entry from without, he turned into the temple of the Lord, because of the king of the Assyrians.
4_Kings 17 3 Contra hunc ascendit Salmanasar rex Assyriorum, et factus est ei Osee servus, reddebatque illi tributa. Against him came up Salmanasar, king of the Assyrians; and Osee became his servant, and paid him tribute.
4_Kings 20 2 Qui convertit faciem suam ad parietem, et oravit Dominum, dicens : And he turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying: Καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν Ἐζεκίας πρὸς τὸν τοῖχον, καὶ ηὔξατο πρὸς Κύριον λέγων
4_Kings 20 9 Cui ait Isaias : Hoc erit signum a Domino quod facturus sit Dominus sermonem quem locutus est : vis ut ascendat umbra decem lineis, an ut revertatur totidem gradibus ? And Isaias said to him: This shall be the sign from the Lord, that the Lord will do the word which he hath spoken: Wilt thou that the shadow go forward ten lines, or that it go back so many degrees?
And Ezechias said: It is an easy matter for the shadow to go forward ten lines: and I do not desire that this be done, but let it return back ten degrees.
4_Kings 20 11 Invocavit itaque Isaias propheta Dominum, et reduxit umbram per lineas quibus jam descenderat in horologio Achaz, retrorsum decem gradibus. And Isaias, the prophet, called upon the Lord, and he brought the shadow ten degrees backwards by the lines, by which it had already gone down on the dial of Achaz.
And they brought the king word again what she had said. And he sent: and all the ancients of Juda and Jerusalem were assembled to him.
And as Josias turned himself, he saw there the sepulchres that were in the mount: and he sent and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burnt them upon the altar, and defiled it according to the word of the Lord, which the man of God spoke, who had foretold these things.
So when he went back to Siceleg, there fled to him of Manasses, Ednas and Jozabad, and Jedihel, and Michael, and Ednas, and Jozabad, and Eliu, and Salathi, captains of thousands in Manasses.
1_Paralipomenon 21 20 Porro Ornan cum suspexisset et vidisset angelum, quatuorque filii ejus cum eo, absconderunt se : nam eo tempore terebat in area triticum. Now when Ornan looked up, and saw the angel, he and his four sons hid themselves: for at that time he was thrashing wheat in the floor.
2_Paralipomenon 6 3 Et convertit rex faciem suam, et benedixit universae multitudini Israel (nam omnis turba stabat intenta), et ait : And the king turned his face, and blessed all the multitude of Israel for all the multitude stood attentive and he said: Καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ, καὶ εὐλόγησε τὴν πᾶσαν ἐκκλησίαν Ἰσραὴλ, καὶ πᾶσα ἡ ἐκκλησία Ἰσραὴλ παρειστήκει,
So Jeroboam, and all the people came to Roboam the third day, as he commanded them.
And Roboam came to Jerusalem, and called together all the house of Juda and of Benjamin, a hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men and warriors, to fight against Israel, and to bring back his kingdom to him.
2_Paralipomenon 15 4 Cumque reversi fuerint in angustia sua ad Dominum Deum Israel, et quaesierint eum, reperient eum. And when in their distress they shall return to the Lord the God of Israel, and shall seek him, they shall find him.
2_Paralipomenon 18 26 Et dicetis : Haec dicit rex : Mittite hunc in carcerem, et date ei panis modicum, et aquae pauxillum, donec revertar in pace. And say: Thus saith the king: Put this fellow in prison, and give him bread and water in a small quantity till I return in peace.

And Josaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again to the people from Bersabee to mount Ephraim, and brought them back to the Lord the God of their fathers.

Igitur Ochozias filius Joram rex Juda descendit ut inviseret Joram filium Achab in Jezrahel aegrotantem. And he returned to be healed in Jezrahel: for he received many wounds in the foresaid battle. And Ochozias the son of Joram king of Juda, went down to visit Joram the son of Achab in Jezrahel where he lay sick. <div class=''p'''
And he sent prophets to them to bring them back to the Lord, and they would not give ear when they testified against them. Then Amasias separated the army, that came to him out of Ephraim, to go home again: but they being much enraged against Juda, returned to their own country.
2_Paralipomenon 26 2 Ipse aedificavit Ailath, et restituit eam ditioni Juda, postquam dormivit rex cum patribus suis. He built Ailath, and restored it to the dominion of Juda, after that the king slept with his fathers.
And the men, whom we mentioned above, rose up and took the captives, and with the spoils clothed all them that were naked: and when they had clothed and shod them, and refreshed them with meat and drink, and anointed them because of their labour, and had taken care of them, they set such of them as could not walk, and were feeble, upon beasts, and brought them to Jericho the city of palm trees to their brethren, and they returned to Samaria. And the posts went with letters by commandment of the king, and his princes, to all Israel and Juda, proclaiming according to the king's orders: Ye children of Israel, turn again to the Lord the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Israel: and he will return to the remnant of you that have escaped the hand of the king of the Assyrians. For if you turn again to the Lord, your brethren, and children shall find mercy before their masters, that have led them away captive, and they shall return into this land: for the Lord your God is merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.
And when these things had been duly celebrated, all Israel that were found in the cities of Juda, went out, and they broke the idols, and cut down the groves, demolished the high places, and destroyed the altars, not only out of all Juda and Benjamin, but out of Ephraim also and Manasses, till they had utterly destroyed them: then all the children of Israel returned to their possessions and cities.
His prayer also, and his being heard and all his sins, and contempt, and places wherein he built high places, and set up groves, and statues before he did penance, are written in the words of Hozai.
Now these are the children of the province, that went out of the captivity, which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon had carried away to Babylon, and who returned to Jerusalem and Juda, every man to his city.
Esdras 10 16 feceruntque sic filii transmigrationis. And the children of the captivity did so. And Esdras the priest, and the men heads of the families in the houses of their fathers, and all by their names, went and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
Job 7 10 Nec revertetur ultra in domum suam, neque cognoscet eum amplius locus ejus. Nor shall he return any more into his house, neither shall his place know him any more οὐδʼ οὐ μὴ ἐπιστρέψῃ εἰς τὸν ἴδιον οἶκον, οὐδʼ οὐ μὴ ἐπιγνῶ αὐτὸν ἔτι ὁ τόπος αὐτοῦ.

Remember this, and be ashamed: return, ye transgressors, to the heart.
And he said: It is a small thing that thou shouldst be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to convert the dregs of Israel. Behold, I have given thee to be the light of the Gentiles, that thou mayst be my salvation even to the farthest part of the earth.
