And immolate them before the Lord, offering for the sacrifice of every one of them flour tempered with oil: for to day the Lord will appear to you.
Leviticus 9 18 Immolavit et bovem atque arietem, hostias pacificas populi : obtuleruntque ei filii sui sanguinem, quem fudit super altare in circuitum. He immolated also the bullock and the ram, and peace offerings of the people: and his sons brought him the blood, which he poured upon the altar round about.
Unless he first do these things. He shall offer a calf for sin, and a ram for a holocaust.
Leviticus 16 6 Cumque obtulerit vitulum, et oraverit pro se et pro domo sua, And when he hath offered the cattle and prayed for himself and for his own house: Καὶ προσάξει Ἀαρὼν τὸν μόσχον τὸν περὶ τῆς ἁμαρτίας αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐξιλάσεται περὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ.
Leviticus 16 11 His rite celebratis, offeret vitulum, et rogans pro se, et pro domo sua, immolabit eum : After these things are duly celebrated, he shall offer the calf: and praying for himself and for his own house, he shall immolate it.

But the calf and the buck goat, that were sacrificed for sin, and whose blood was carried into the sanctuary, to accomplish the atonement, they shall carry forth without the camp, and shall burn with fire: their skins and their flesh, and their dung.
Leviticus 17 3 Homo quilibet de domo Israel, si occiderit bovem aut ovem, sive capram, in castris vel extra castra, Any man whosoever of the house of Israel, if he kill an ox, or a sheep, or a goat in the camp, or without the camp,
An ox or a sheep, that hath the ear and the tail cut off, thou mayst offer voluntarily: but a vow may not be paid with them.
When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, they shall be seven days under the udder of their dam: but the eighth day, and thenceforth, they may be offered to the Lord.
Whether it be a cow, or a sheep, they shall not be sacrificed the same day with their young ones.
And you shall offer with the loaves seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one calf from the herd, and they shall be for a holocaust with their two rams: and they shall be for a holocaust with their libations for a most sweet odour to the Lord.
The firstborn, which belong to the Lord, no man may sanctify and vow: whether it be bullock, or sheep, they are the Lord's.

Their gifts before the Lord, six wagons covered, and twelve oxen. Two princes offered one wagon, and each one an ox, and they offered them before the tabernacle.
Numbers 8 8 tollent bovem de armentis, et libamentum ejus similam oleo conspersam : bovem autem alterum de armento tu accipies pro peccato : They shall take an ox of the herd, and for the offering thereof fine flour tempered with oil: and thou shalt take another ox of the herd for a sin offering: Καὶ λήμψονται μόσχον ἕνα ἐκ βοῶν, καὶ τούτου θυσίαν σεμίδαλιν ἀναπεποιημένην ἐν ἐλαίῳ· καὶ μόσχον ἐνιαύσιον ἐκ βοῶν λήψῃ περὶ ἁμαρτίας.

The Levites also shall put their hands upon the heads of the oxen, of which thou shalt sacrifice one for sin, and the other for a holocaust to the Lord, to pray for them.

Sanguinem tantum eorum fundes super altare, et adipes adolebis in suavissimum odorem Domino. But the firstling of a cow, and of a sheep and of a goat thou shalt not cause to be redeemed, because they are sanctified to the Lord. Their blood only thou shalt pour upon the altar, and their fat thou shalt burn for a most sweet odour to the Lord.

Speak of me before the Lord, and before his anointed, whether I have taken any man's ox, or ass: if I have wronged any man, if I have oppressed any man, if I have taken a bribe at any man's hand: and I will despise it this day, and will restore it to you.
And Saul said: Disperse yourselves among the people, and tell them to bring me every man his ox and his ram and slay them upon this stone, and eat, and you shall not sin against the Lord, in eating with the blood. So all the people brought every man his ox with him till the night: and slew them there.
It had six steps: and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were two hands on either side holding the seat: and two lions stood, one at each hand, Ἓξ ἀναβαθμοὶ τῷ θρόνῳ, καὶ προτομαὶ μόσχων τῷ θρόνῳ ἐκ τῶν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ, καὶ χεῖρες ἔνθεν καὶ ἔνθεν ἐπὶ τοῦ τόπου τῆς καθέδρας, καὶ δύο λέοντες ἑστηκότες παρὰ τὰς χεῖρας,
3_Kings 18 25 Dixit ergo Elias prophetis Baal : Eligite vobis bovem unum, et facite primi, quia vos plures estis : et invocate nomina deorum vestrorum, ignemque non supponatis. Then Elias said to the prophets of Baal: Choose you one bullock and dress it first, because you are many: and call on the names of your gods; but put no fire under.
And they took the bullock, which he gave them, and dressed it: and they called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying: O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered: and they leaped over the altar that they had made.
2_Paralipomenon 4 3 Similitudo quoque boum erat subter illud, et decem cubitis quaedam extrinsecus caelaturae, quasi duobus versibus alvum maris circuibant. Boves autem erant fusiles : And under it there was the likeness of oxen, and certain engravings on the outside of ten cubits compassed the belly of the sea, as it were with two rows.
2_Paralipomenon 7 5 Mactavit igitur rex Salomon hostias, boum viginti duo millia, arietum centum viginti millia : et dedicavit domum Dei rex, et universus populus. And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand oxen, and one hundred and twenty thousand rams: and the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
And you have cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites: and you have made you priests, like all the nations of the earth: whosoever cometh and consecrateth his hand with a bullock of the herd, and with seven rams, is made a priest of those who are no gods.
Moreover the children of Israel and Juda, that dwelt in the cities of Juda, brought in the tithes of oxen, and sheep, and the tithes of holy things, which they had vowed to the Lord their God: and carrying them all, made many heaps.
And Josias gave to all the people that were found there in the solemnity of the phase, of lambs and of kids of the flocks, and of other small cattle thirty thousand, and of oxen three thousand, all these were of the king's substance.
Sic faciebat Job cunctis diebus. And when the days of their feasting were gone about, Job sent to them, and sanctified them: and rising up early, offered holocausts for every one of them. For he said: Lest perhaps my sons have sinned, and have blessed God in their hearts. So did Job all days.
It is better to be invited to herbs with love, than to a fatted calf with hatred.
Isaias 66 3 Qui immolat bovem, quasi qui interficiat virum ; qui mactat pecus, quasi qui excerebret canem ; qui offert oblationem, quasi qui sanguinem suillum offerat ; qui recordatur thuris, quasi qui benedicat idolo. Haec omnia elegerunt in viis suis, et in abominationibus suis anima eorum delectata est. He that sacrificeth an ox, is as if he slew a man: he that killeth a sheep in sacrifice, as if he should brain a dog: he that offereth an oblation, as if he should offer swine's blood; he that remembereth incense, as if he should bless an idol. All these things have they chosen in their ways, and their soul is delighted in their abominations. <div class=''p'''
Luke 15 23 et adducite vitulum saginatum, et occidite, et manducemus, et epulemur : And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it: and let us eat and make merry: καὶ ἐνέγκαντες τὸν μόσχον τὸν σιτευτὸν θύσατε, καὶ φαγόντες εὐφρανθῶμεν·"
Luke 15 27 Isque dixit illi : Frater tuus venit, et occidit pater tuus vitulum saginatum, quia salvum illum recepit. And he said to him: Thy brother is come and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe.
Luke 15 30 Sed postquam filius tuus hic, qui devoravit substantiam suam cum meretricibus, venit, occidisti illi vitulum saginatum. But as soon as this thy son is come, who hath devoured his substance with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
Neither by the blood of goats or of calves, but by his own blood, entered once into the Holies, having obtained eternal redemption.
Hebrews 9 19 Lecto enim omni mandato legis a Moyse universo populo, accipiens sanguinem vitulorum et hircorum cum aqua, et lana coccinea, et hyssopo, ipsum quoque librum, et omnem populum aspersit, For when every commandment of the law had been read by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people.
Apocalypse 4 7 Et animal primum simile leoni, et secundum animal simile vitulo, et tertium animal habens faciem quasi hominis, et quartum animal simile aquilae volanti. And the first living creature was like a lion: and the second living creature like a calf: and the third living creature, having the face, as it were, of a man: and the fourth living creature was like an eagle flying.
