2_Timothy 2 6 Laborantem agricolam oportet primum de fructibus percipere. The husbandman that laboureth must first partake of the fruits.
But the servant of the Lord must not wrangle: but be mild toward all men, apt to teach, patient,
For a bishop must be without crime, as the steward of God: not proud, not subject to anger, nor given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre: Δεῖ γὰρ τὸν ἐπίσκοπον ἀνέγκλητον εἶναι, ὡς θεοῦ οἰκονόμον· μὴ αὐθάδη, μὴ ὀργίλον, μὴ πάροινον, μὴ πλήκτην, μὴ αἰσχροκερδῆ,"
Who must be reproved, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
Who must be reproved, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
Hebrews 2 1 Propterea abundantius oportet observare nos ea quae audivimus, ne forte pereffluamus. Therefore ought we more diligently to observe the things which we have heard lest perhaps we should let them slip.
But without faith it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is: and is a rewarder to them that seek him.
James 3 10 Ex ipso ore procedit benedictio et maledictio. Non oportet, fratres mei, haec ita fieri. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
1_Peter 1 6 In quo exsultabis, modicum nunc si oportet contristari in variis tentationibus : Wherein you shalt greatly rejoice, if now you must be for a little time made sorrowful in divers temptations: Ἐν ᾧ ἀγαλλιᾶσθε, ὀλίγον ἄρτι, εἰ δέον ἐστίν, λυπηθέντες ἐν ποικίλοις πειρασμοῖς,"
2_Peter 3 11 Cum igitur haec omnia dissolvenda sunt, quales oportet vos esse in sanctis conversationibus, et pietatibus, Seeing then that all these things are to be dissolved, what manner of people ought you to be in holy conversation and godliness?
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to make known to his servants the things which must shortly come to pass: and signified, sending by his angel to his servant John,
Write therefore the things which thou hast seen: and which are: and which must be done hereafter.
After these things I looked, and behold a door was opened in heaven, and the first voice which I heard, as it were, of a trumpet speaking with me, said: Come up hither, and I will shew thee the things which must be done hereafter.
Apocalypse 10 11 et dixit mihi : Oportet te iterum prophetare gentibus, et populis, et linguis, et regibus multis. And he said to me: Thou must prophesy again to many nations and peoples and tongues and kings.
And if any man will hurt them, fire shall come out of their mouths and shall devour their enemies. And if any man will hurt them, in this manner must he be slain.
Apocalypse 13 10 Qui in captivitatem duxerit, in captivitatem vadet : qui in gladio occiderit, oportet eum gladio occidi. Hic est patientia, et fides sanctorum.
Five are fallen, one is, and the other is not yet come: and when he is come, he must remain a short time.
And he cast him into the bottomless pit and shut him up and set a seal upon him, that he should no more seduce the nations till the thousand years be finished. And after that, he must be loosed a little time.
And he said to me: These words are most faithful and true. And the Lord God of the spirits of the prophets sent his angel to shew his servant the things which must be done shortly.
