Matthew 14 30 Videns vero ventum validum, timuit : et cum coepisset mergi, clamavit dicens : Domine, salvum me fac. But seeing the wind strong, he was afraid: and when he began to sink, he cried out, saying: Lord, save me.

Mark 1 7 Et praedicabat dicens : Venit fortior me post me, cujus non sum dignus procumbens solvere corrigiam calceamentorum ejus. And he preached, saying: There cometh after me one mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.
Mark 3 27 Nemo potest vasa fortis ingressus in domum diripere, nisi prius fortem alliget, et tunc domum ejus diripiet. No man can enter into the house of a strong man and rob him of his goods, unless he first bind the strong man, and then shall he plunder his house. Luke 3 16 respondit Joannes, dicens omnibus : Ego quidem aqua baptizo vos : veniet autem fortior me, cujus non sum dignus solvere corrigiam calceamentorum ejus : ipse vos baptizabit in Spiritu Sancto et igni : John answered, saying unto all: I indeed baptize you with water: but there shall come one mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to loose. He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire;
When a strong man armed keepeth his court, those things are in peace which he possesseth.
Luke 11 22 Si autem fortior eo superveniens vicerit eum, universa arma ejus auferet, in quibus confidebat, et spolia ejus distribuet. But if a stronger than he come upon him and overcome him, he will take away all his armour wherein he trusted and will distribute his spoils.
Luke 15 14 Et postquam omnia consummasset, facta est fames valida in regione illa, et ipse coepit egere. And after he had spent all, there came a mighty famine in that country: and he began to be in want.
For the foolishness of God is wiser than men: and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
But the foolish things of the world hath God chosen, that he may confound the wise: and the weak things of the world hath God chosen, that he may confound the strong.
1_Corinthians 4 10 Nos stulti propter Christum, vos autem prudentes in Christo : nos infirmi, vos autem fortes : vos nobiles, nos autem ignobiles. We are fools for Christs sake, but you are wise in Christ: we are weak, but you are strong: you are honourable, but we without honour.
1_Corinthians 10 22 An aemulamur Dominum ? numquid fortiores illo sumus ? Omnia mihi licent, sed non omnia expediunt. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he? All things are lawful for me: but all things are not expedient. Ἢ παραζηλοῦμεν τὸν κύριον; Μὴ ἰσχυρότεροι αὐτοῦ ἐσμέν;
For his epistles indeed, say they, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak and his speech contemptible): Ὅτι, Αἱ μὲν ἐπιστολαί, φησίν, βαρεῖαι καὶ ἰσχυραί· ἡ δὲ παρουσία τοῦ σώματος ἀσθενής, καὶ ὁ λόγος ἐξουθενημένος."
Who in the days of his flesh, with a strong cry and tears, offering up prayers and supplications to him that was able to save him from death, was heard for his reverence.
Hebrews 6 18 ut per duas res immobiles, quibus impossibile est mentiri Deum, fortissimum solatium habeamus, qui confugimus ad tenendam propositam spem, That by two immutable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have the strongest comfort, we who have fled for refuge to hold fast the hope set before us.
Hebrews 11 34 extinxerunt impetum ignis, effugerunt aciem gladii, convaluerunt de infirmitate, fortes facti sunt in bello, castra verterunt exterorum : Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, recovered strength from weakness, became valiant in battle, put to flight the armies of foreigners.
1_John 2 14 Scribo vobis, infantes, quoniam cognovistis patrem. Scribo vobis juvenes, quoniam fortes estis, et verbum Dei manet in vobis, et vicistis malignum. I write unto you, babes, because you have known the Father. I write unto you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.
Apocalypse 5 2 Et vidi angelum fortem, praedicantem voce magna : Quis est dignus aperire librum, et solvere signacula ejus ? And I saw a strong angel, proclaiming with a loud voice: Who is worthy to open the book and to loose the seals thereof?
Apocalypse 6 15 et reges terrae, et principes, et tribuni, et divites, et fortes, et omnis servus, et liber absconderunt se in speluncis, et in petris montium : And the kings of the earth, and the princes, and tribunes, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman, and every freeman, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of mountains: Καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς, καὶ οἱ μεγιστᾶνες, καὶ οἱ χιλίαρχοι, καὶ οἱ πλούσιοι, καὶ οἱ ἰσχυροί, καὶ πᾶς δοῦλος καὶ ἐλεύθερος, ἔκρυψαν ἑαυτοὺς εἰς τὰ σπήλαια καὶ εἰς τὰς πέτρας τῶν ὀρέων,"
Apocalypse 10 1 Et vidi alium angelum fortem descendentem de caelo amictum nube, et iris in capite ejus, et facies ejus erat ut sol, et pedes ejus tamquam columnae ignis : And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head: and his face, as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire.
Apocalypse 18 2 Et exclamavit in fortitudine, dicens : Cecidit, cecidit Babylon magna : et facta est habitatio daemoniorum, et custodia omnis spiritus immundi, et custodia omnis volucris immundae, et odibilis : And he cried out with a strong voice, saying: Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen: and is become the habitation of devils and the hold of every unclean spirit and the hold of every unclean and hateful bird: Καὶ ἔκραξεν ἰσχυρᾷ φωνῇ, λέγων, Ἔπεσεν Βαβυλὼν ἡ μεγάλη, καὶ ἐγένετο κατοικητήριον δαιμόνων, καὶ φυλακὴ παντὸς πνεύματος ἀκαθάρτου, καὶ φυλακὴ παντὸς ὀρνέου ἀκαθάρτου καὶ μεμισημένου."
Therefore, shall her plagues come in one day, death and mourning and famine. And she shall be burnt with the fire: because God is strong, who shall judge her.
Apocalypse 18 10 longe stantes propter timorem tormentorum ejus, dicentes : Vae, vae civitas illa magna Babylon, civitas illa fortis : quoniam una hora venit judicium tuum. Standing afar off for fear of her torments, saying: Alas! alas! that great city, Babylon, that mighty city: for in one hour is thy judgment come.
Apocalypse 18 21 Et sustulit unus angelus fortis lapidem quasi molarem magnum, et misit in mare, dicens : Hoc impetu mittetur Babylon civitas illa magna, et ultra jam non invenietur. And a mighty angel took up a stone, as it were a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying: With such violence as this, shall Babylon, that great city, be thrown down and shall be found no more at all.
Apocalypse 19 6 Et audivi quasi vocem turbae magnae, et sicut vocem aquarum multarum, et sicut vocem tonitruorum magnorum, dicentium : Alleluja : quoniam regnavit Dominus Deus noster omnipotens. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of great thunders, saying: Alleluia: for the Lord our God, the Almighty, hath reigned.
That you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of tribunes and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of them that sit on them: and the flesh of all freemen and bondmen and of little and of great.
