Genesis 31 48 Dixitque Laban : Tumulus iste erit testis inter me et te hodie, et idcirco appellatum est nomen ejus Galaad, id est, Tumulus testis. And Laban said: This heap shall be a witness between me and thee this day, and therefore the name thereof was called Galaad, that is, The witness heap. Εἶπε δὲ Λάβαν τῷ Ἰακὼβ, ἰδοὺ ὁ βουνὸς οὗτος καὶ ἡ στήλη, ἣν ἔστησα ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ σοῦ· μαρτυρεῖ ὁ βουνὸς οὗτος, καὶ μαρτυρεῖ ἡ στήλη αὕτη· διὰ τοῦτο ἐκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα, βουνὸς μαρτυρεῖ.
Judges 15 19 Aperuit itaque Dominus molarem dentem in maxilla asini, et egressae sunt ex eo aquae. Quibus haustis, refocillavit spiritum, et vires recepit. Idcirco appellatum est nomen loci illius, Fons invocantis de maxilla, usque in praesentem diem. Then the Lord opened a great tooth in the jaw of the ass and waters issued out of it. And when he had drunk them, he refreshed his spirit, and recovered his strength. Therefore the name of that place was called The Spring of him that invoked from the jawbone, until this present day. Καὶ ἔῤῥηξεν ὁ Θεὸς τὸν λάκκον τὸν ἐν τῇ σιαγόνι, καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ αὐτοῦ ὕδωρ, καὶ ἔπιε· καὶ ἐπέστρεψε τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔζησε. διὰ τοῦτο ἐκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς, Πηγὴ τοῦ ἐπικαλουμένου, ἥ ἐστιν ἐν σιαγόνι, ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης.
