Erat enim mulier gentilis, Syrophoenissa genere. Et rogabat eum ut daemonium ejiceret de filia ejus.

For the woman was a Gentile, a Syrophenician born. And she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

ἦν δὲ ἡ γυνὴ Ἑλληνίς, Συραφοινίκισσα τῷ γένει· καὶ ἠρώτα αὐτὸν ἵνα τὸ δαιμόνιον ἐκβάλῃ ἐκ τῆς θυγατρὸς αὐτῆς."

Et multi quidem crediderunt ex eis, et mulierum gentilium honestarum, et viri non pauci.

And many indeed of them believed: and of honourable women that were Gentiles and of men, not a few.

Πολλοὶ μὲν οὖν ἐξ αὐτῶν ἐπίστευσαν, καὶ τῶν Ἑλληνίδων γυναικῶν τῶν εὐσχημόνων καὶ ἀνδρῶν οὐκ ὀλίγοι."
