Stultas autem quaestiones, et genealogias, et contentiones, et pugnas legis devita : sunt enim inutiles, et vanae.

But avoid foolish questions and genealogies and contentions and strivings about the law. For they are unprofitable and vain.

μωρὰς δὲ ζητήσεις καὶ γενεαλογίας καὶ ἔρεις καὶ μάχας νομικὰς περιΐστασο· εἰσὶν γὰρ ἀνωφελεῖς καὶ μάταιοι.

Reprobatio quidem fit praecedentis mandati, propter infirmitatem ejus, et inutilitatem :

There is indeed a setting aside of the former commandment, because of the weakness and unprofitableness thereof:

Ἀθέτησις μὲν γὰρ γίνεται προαγούσης ἐντολῆς, διὰ τὸ αὐτῆς ἀσθενὲς καὶ ἀνωφελές·"
